In 1984 we were living in Marquette and my husband bought a boat. In May we had to drive south for him to be able to check it out because Lake Superior still had ice. It can and has snowed every month of the year there. During the Winter, it is common for it to snow every day. That said, I think this is the coldest year ever. I have never been so glad to be south of the Mason-Dixon.

I don't know how the northern part of the country can even function snow and iced in for weeks, months at time.

Talk about cabin-fever!!
