We were north of you in Arlington Hts, just off of Northwest Highway in The Stonegate Area.

I was just looking at our home (’55-’67) on Google Street View, and not only had it and the 2ac adjacent lot we owned next door changed, the streets and everything else has/have all changed! Some deleted, some extended, new homes all over the place. I went back in ‘87 for my Mt Prospect HS 20yr reunion, and it took us over an hour to find the damned street and house which I grew up in! Yeah, I’d been drinking, but not THAT much! Holy carp!! LOL!

Yes, I too have found that most memories are best to leave as memories
and not try to validate or update or refresh them in current time.

I Google Street’d the same thing not long ago. We had huge elms on the sidewalk parkways lining every street in Hinsdale, all gone due to dutch elm disease. We had a deck above the garage and they built basically a guest house over it. Things change. I Google Street’d our apple orchard and it’s now a horse farm...drove by it after mom’s funeral last year and it actually looks better than when we had it.

I know where you were, had a girlfriend in Barrington.
