In the clearest signal yet of U.S. unhappiness with the rightward tilt of Japan’s political leadership — and by extension, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe — the U.S. embassy in Tokyo has strongly condemned charges by a top official at Japan’s national public broadcaster that Americans fabricated war crimes against Japanese leaders during World War II in order to cover up American atrocities.
The charges were made this week by Naoki Hyakuta, a nationalist writer and close friend of Abe, who was recently appointed to the board of governors of the Japan Broadcasting Corp., commonly known as NHK.
In campaign speeches on behalf of a far-right candidate for the governorship of Tokyo, Hyakuta claimed that the infamous Nanjing Massacre in 1937 never occurred, and that Americans staged the postwar trials of Japanese leaders to cover up U.S. war crimes. He said those crimes included the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki and the mass firebombings of Tokyo.

I second that. I just read it about four months ago. It’s really overwhelming to think of how cruel and sadistic the Japanese military we’re.
I am anticipating the film version and plan to see it, even though I rarely go to theaters anymore. It’s being directed by Angelina Jolie.
I have seen what you describe as well, especially at the Hawaiian Holy Sites, such as Mt. Haleakela. I have seen both types of behavior at Pearl Harbor. I have been visiting there since 1991.
The Park Rangers there are possibly much more strict than they used to be. They also control access, which is a good thing.
We are covering up the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki? Can you count the number of movies, documentaries and books on this? A week does not go by that the Looney left does not complain about it.

Last time I was there was in ‘79 or ‘80. I went out to the Arizona Memorial, stayed for a time in somber reflection, took the launch back to where the submarine and the gift shop are/were, and bought a ‘get some’ shirt.
It was the submarine’s crest and kill marks. I put it on in the rest room and wore it for the remainder of my visit to Pearl.
I still have it in a box somewhere. Looking at the USS Bowfin’s online store, I see that it isn’t offered anymore.

He and 97 other civilians were Murdered en masse by the Japanese Commander after they had endured 3 years of captivity. They were buried in a mass grave and after the war were disinterred and buried, with honors at the National Cemetery in Honolulu. The Commanders weapon of choice was Machine guns and bound Prisoners.

What the hell does that have to do with Japanese officials denying WWII atrocities?
Back in the days when it is was permissible to voice your opinion, one of the ‘good lines’ was
“IF IT WEREN’T FOR PEARL HARBOR, HIROSHIMA PROBABLY WOULD NEVER HAVE HAPPENED”.
The gist of that statement isn’t meant to be ‘in retaliation’ but
YOU started something and WE finished it.
Maybe another nuke would refresh their memory?
So we should vaporize thousands of innocent men, women, and children because their govt won’t tell them the truth?
