U.S. President Barack Obama on Thursday expressed his appreciation towards his Secretary of States peace efforts in the Middle East.
Speaking at an interfaith breakfast in Washington, D.C., Obama said, I want to take this opportunity to thank Secretary Kerry for his extraordinary passion and principled diplomacy that hes brought to the cause of peace in the Middle East. Thank you, John.
As we support Israelis and Palestinians as they engage in direct talks, weve made clear that lasting peace will require freedom of worship and access to holy sites for all faiths, he added.
The expression of support for Kerrys efforts comes after the top diplomat was heavily criticized by Israeli officials in recent days, over his threats that Israel will be boycotted if peace talks with the Palestinian Authority (PA) fail.
On Monday, Obamas National Security Adviser Susan Rice responded to the criticism and blasted Israel on Twitter.

Not satire? Good grief. Unbelievable.
It’s too bad that those bullets he stated in his response missed their target.
I can live with, even appreciate Kerry’s passion, so called, for peace in the world. That’s not the problem. The problem is his totally unacceptable and unworkable/ dangerous proposals. If Kerry would simply apply his passion to attempted mediation or if he proposed any positive ideas that didn’t attempt to destroy Israel or render her defenseless against further Islamic attacks, he could maybe do some good with his passion. As things are today. He is a a major embarrassment to America and himself.
Every dang Pubbie Rep should’ve walked out when 0 *lauded* F’n Kerry’s Israel “diplomacy”. The 0 *admin* is trying to de-legitimize Israel. No thanks.
Neville Chamberlain went to Munich and “Lauded Hitler’s Peace Effots Amid Criticism”.
