Three suspects are now in custody for the theft of a rare $5 million violin, and one of the suspects has ties to US Congresswoman Gwen Moore’s (D-Wis.) son Sowande A. Omokunde, known publically by his alias Supreme Solar Allah.
Universal Knowledge Allah, 36, Salah Jones, 41, and Latoya Atlas, 32, have all been arrested in conjunction with the investigation of the theft of a rare Stradivarius violin in Milwaukee last week. Furthermore, AP reporter Tom Bauer reports that one of the suspects is rumored to have been a barber of Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett.
According to a 2002 story in Riverwest Currents, then 25 year old Universal Allah and Supreme Allah were partners in a non-profit organization called Street Academy of Cream City Mentors. Both men are also members of what is referred to as the Five-Percent Nation, a religion sometimes also referred to as NGE, or Nation of Gods and Earths. The Street Academy of Cream City is a branch of the NGE.
The NGE has been controversial since its inception in the 1960s. It teaches its members that black people are the “original” people and that the “white devil” was created thousands of years ago by a black scientist. The changing of their names reflects the belief that each black man, himself, is God personified.
Moore’s son, Supreme Allah, was convicted in 2005 of criminal damage to property after he and 3 others slashed the tires of vans rented by the Republican Party of Wisconsin meant to transport the elderly and disabled to voting stations. Since then, he has stayed out of the public eye, however he and Universal Allah are still “friends” on Facebook. It is unknown how active Moore’s son is within the NGE, however, he is known on Facebook as Supreme S. Allah.
G.B. Jones, acting special agent in charge with the FBI in Milwaukee says he is “confident” the suspects are responsible for the theft. According to Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett, the violin has been recovered.

A teaching promoted even earlier by Nation of Islam leader Elijah Muhammad. This was the "religion" adopted by Muhammad Ali (Cassius Clay), a fact never, ever pointed out by the press, especially his main PR man, Howard Cosell.
Bear that in mine the next time some retrospective or glorified news story praising Ali comes on.

Theft of articles of art is often ordered by private collectors. Such collectors get an incredibly valuable item for under $100K. The item then, entirely invisible to the taxing authorities, remains in the family. Decades later it sails past the death tax and becomes inherited. Even later, once the trail is cold, the item may be sold at an auction. Note that such a violin is above any fiat currency because Antonio ain't making more of them. As a store of value they are better than gold and diamonds because you can always mine more of those.
