No all isn’t good. But any Republican is better than any Democrat regardless of what the Republican does in office. Backing candidates who can’t win contributes to another two years of Harry Reed running the Senate.
We all want to vote for someone who best matches our preferences. We all want the most conservative Senate we can get. The only path to that objective is too put candidates into the general with the best chance of winning. Any Republican is better than any Democrat.
