Baltimore District Judge Rachel E. Cogen on Monday called 51 y.o. Kimberly Leto's murder on January 31 "a tragedy on all accounts" as she ordered suspects Alonzo Gorham-Ramos, 14, and Allen Pinkney, 16, held pending further developments in the case...Both Gorham-Ramos and Pinkney have been charged as adults on counts that include first-degree murder, possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, and burglary...
Gorham-Ramos told Cogen he had a daughter. As he stood before the judge, he asked to be granted bail to see her.
- Gorham-Ramos had previously been arrested in a summer burglary of Leto's home...Authorities believe he returned there with Pinkney this weekend, and the two attacked her when she found them.
On Aug. 19, according to a police report, Leto told an officer that she was asleep in the living room of her home in the 400 block of S. Ellwood Ave. when she woke up to a 5-foot-9 black male in a purple hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
Leto gave chase before she lost him.
Police investigated and identified Gorham-Ramos through fingerprints, court records show.
Nearly six months later, officers arrived at Leto's home after someone reported a suspicious death. A statement of probable cause filed in court shows they found her in her living room with multiple stab wounds to her chest and back. The rear first-floor kitchen window was unlocked and open.
Detectives believe the teens came in the backyard and brought a lawn chair up to the kitchen window. A bloody Adidas shoeprint had been left behind.
After learning of the earlier burglary, detectives brought Gorham-Ramos and his mother to police headquarters for an interview. There, police said, a detective noticed he was wearing Adidas tennis shoes that matched the shoeprints found at the crime scene.

Some just need their expectations met.
Luckily she didn’t have a gun. If she had one, someone could have gotten hurt.
It's B'mo, and the little vermin are negro.
Take a wild guess.
The police took the August break-in seriously enough to look for fingerprints, which is not routine in big cities with high crime rates and no injured victim. The boy was already in the system.
The juvenile court perhaps did not take the burglary seriously.
Sad because western MD is more like this part of PA and WV. They ought to secede.
Somebody in the criminal justice system didn’t.
Umm...I guess NO!
Wow. Shocking. I figured they’d look more like George Zimmerman.
My brother-in-law spent his entire career working with kids like this in the Chicago juvenile justice system, mostly gang members. He said they would just as soon kill him as shake his hand with about the same amount of emotion. He didn't believe in rehabilitation and when he finally retired he wanted to get as far away from other human beings as possible because they sickened him. Nowadays he mostly fishes and works in his garden.
Maryland “Freak State” PING!
Because the liberal establishment wants to believe the motive was robbery does not make it so. It may have been the first time; however, since the mother of one of the perps is a police dispatcher and could easily have found info on who was the complainant in the earlier case, the motive in the second case could have been simple revenge; or merely because the victim was a friendly white woman, the motive the second time may have been sexual dominance -- in both scenarios the robbery in the second invasion would have only been incidental.
Rest in peace, Ms Leto.
This is heartbreaking and you deserved better.
When 14 year olds and 15 year olds are having kids are they getting welfare and their own subsidized housing? I once heard here in Massachusetts that they gave apartments to 13 year olds who have kids.
