Yellowstone National Park is home to many beauties, with it’s ancient landscape, geysers, and hot springs. It is also the site of one of the worlds most destructive forces. A supervolcano.
You were there? As a young child I would guess. You could have been one of the boy-scouts camping or other children who’s families who got trapped behind the landslide that blocked off the river that created the new lake.
I have been to Hebgen lake many times. It’s kind of eerie in a way?
My grandparents were children of homesteaders in Montana, and they spent many days hiking around Yellowstone park. They discovered a few new geysers and mud pots even. Long before the boardwalks and regulations made the park too restrictive, they would fish, hunt, camp there for weeks on end.
After the 59 quake, my grandmother told me there were many changes in the park. As regular as Old Faithful is, she said it has never been as accurate as it was before the quake.
My grandparents used to camp next to the geysers and even washed their cloths and dishes in the hot water that overflowed from the Grand Prismatic Spring as it flowed in to the Yelowstone river that runs between the geysers and the road.
My grandfather was one of the many carpenters who worked on expanding Old Faithful Inn back during the 1920’s
lol...when ‘Yellowstone” goes, its game over and ya might want to think about moving to the equator with them seeds, it might stay above 40 degree’s, maybe.

I'm not trying to be argumentative and I don't doubt Yellowstone is a powder keg waiting to go off.....I was mainly just laughing at link you provided.
~7.5 miles is the deepest drilled. The deepest mineshaft is about 2.4-2.5 miles

Yellowstone National Park’s Giantess Geyser is erupting for the first time in two-and-a-half years, park rangers said today.

The usually quiet geyser is shooting off bursts of water that reach 50 feet (15 meters) into the air, said Annie Carlson, the supervisory park ranger at the Old Faithful Visitor Education Center. Giantess Geyser is nearby the more famous Old Faithful, but it is far less regular.

I’m not sure what they consider the threshhold to be considered as within the ‘ashfall’ range. I know in Northwestern North Dakota we were sweeping 1/2 inch of Mt. St. Helens off the windowsills when it blew.
Recall God was willing to spare even Sodom if Lot could find a few righteous. The balance in America seems more favorable than in Sodom, despite the behaviour of the urbanites. Why would The Almighty destroy the heartland where people still try to live well and follow Him?

I know. In Denver I had about 1/8th inch of ash on my windshield each morning for about a week. Now compare to the St. Helens ash fall on the map. Looks like they’re only talking about major amounts as far as the map goes.
