I watched the first five minutes, switched to a documentary on Prince Charles’ childhood on PBS instead. Much more exciting.
It was nice to see a team win other than the usual cast of characters like New York or New England or Green Bay. Also, as a die-hard Chiefs fan, it was a pleasure to watch Seattle kick the stuffing out of the Broncos.
The Broncs were drubbed by Seattle, Peyton Manning was embarrassed and once again showed he cannot win the Big Game.
I received an email that said “Last great run by a Bronco was in 1994”
and showed photo of police chasing OJ down the freeway.
I had to attend to a church function, and by the time I got home and hit the front door it was 22-0.
Most of the people at our house left during the third quarter. Horrible game (except for Seahawk fans), tired of hearing about New York/New Jersey, commercials were not worth the time either. Over all - thumbs down.
Unless you were a Seahawks fan that was a terrible game to watch. I should have just watched the half time show. It was the most entertaining part of the event.
I read a good book, finished it and started another one. But is the super duper halftime show available for viewing on Youtube?
How come when last year Ray Rice and this year Russell Wilson gave thanks to God in the microphones that no media said a blip about it and rightfully so. When Tim Tebow did it he was ripped apart and criticized on all sides. Media hypocrisy on full display.
The only team that could have beaten the Seahawks yesterday were the Niners.
That game was the REAL Super Bowl.
Rush is disappointed because he fell for the media over-hype of the game. Look, I wanted Peyton to get the win just so that the post season monkey malignment would finally be off his back.
The man is a quarterback genius, but I think the Manning Generalissimo pre-game planning methods had the Broncos tight and nervous. News reports had Manning peppering and testing his teammates about every possible play scenario. The picture of Manning with his wired helmet on while icing his foot said it all. It was Control-Freak-Land in their training camp.
In contrast, Pete Carroll’s loose and inspirational style carried the day. A team with something to prove as opposed to a team having to defend its reputation will almost always prevail.
As bad as the Broncos played, they were not embarrassed. You can only be embarrassed if you lose to an inferior opponent - like being pinned to the mat by Richard Simmons or electing a totally unqualified man to run a country.
I reloaded shotgun shells and had the game as background noise.
This result just shows how strong the NFC was and particularly how strong New Orleans was, playing to within 3 of the Seahawks in Seattle.
Based on his Environmental-Wacko criteria, Rush had Seattle as the winner. That goes without saying as Seattle is the gay capital of the nation, and the Seahawk’s owner is Uber-Liberal Progressive Paul Allen ( Microsoft co-founder with Bill Gates ).
In contrast, John Elway is conservative as are the Mannings.
So why all the Manning hate I’m reading in all the Super Bowl posts here? I really don’t get it. Seattle played a great game. The Denver players played their absolute worst game collectively. Why jump all over Peyton Manning?
Peyton was his usual classy self when he said he wanted to win this game for Champ Bailey. I feel bad that Peyton lost this opportunity toward the end of his career.
I’m happy for Russell Wilson, but he is young and will have many more chances for Super Bowl stardom unlike Peyton.
Sometimes a team will leave everything on the field to GET to a Superbowl. When the big game arrives they have nothing left. It looked like that yesterday. It wasnt Manning that lost the game, the whole team looked like they were just going through the motions.
I'm not suggesting games are fixed, but its a waste to become invested in any game that is so dependent upon the capabilities of the officials at the cost of the talent of the players. Its the way the game is structured. Too damn many rules.
If ever there was a defense designed to shut down Manning and the Broncos, it is the Seahawks. I didn’t expect anything like what happened, but I figured the Seahawks would win. Manning completed 34 passes, so it wasn’t like he wasn’t doing his job. He was throwing the same passes he has thrown all year. The difference was that his receivers weren’t turning receptions into long plays. The other problem is that Manning was getting hit and crowded on every play. He was the wrong quarterback for beating the Seahawks, and short screen passes and picks are the wrong offense to throw at the Seahawks defense. I don’t think Denver so much fell apart as they were torn apart, and that was worth watching.
