My stepmother made the best dumplings....or what we considered “dumplings” in our neck of the woods.
She dropped dough into a “soup” of sorts, a gravy kind of thing with vegetables and pieces of chicken. The dough was soft and pillowy inside and outside it took up the great gravy.
Whatever the case, in Georgetown Delaware it’s a big deal these Sussex county dumplings, hand to God, uncooked noodles tossed into a similar sort of soup as above.
Man, that just wasn’t happening for me.
I agree. The Admin is already ignoring border security and deportation.
I am rooting all the way for the Sea Hawks SC and Sister Pat also blesses.
I resent Rush Limbaugh saying that there is no bird as a Sea Hawk, and it’s not an osprey.
Well just yes it is Rush I snark. Rush needs to stick to Florida fish.
Why we would allow the regime to get out of the way of a huge juggernaut headed their way of scandal after unending scandal lead by Benghazi smuggling arms to Syria, the IRS, the CIA/petraeus, dead seals, corruption with Morsi in Egypt with trials currently going on, you name it scandal after scandal. And we concentrate on immigration because of why?!!
Idiots! When it comes to political strategy, our side does not have any. It's like trying to lead bed-wetting 50 year olds to the potty before the ruin yet another sheet.
Great to hear. Does it look like to you that the GOP is dumping Christie in favor of Jeb? I think that is their latest submission to see if it passes the smell test.
My biggest fear and it could be the end of the party, is that we sign onto any immigration bill whatsoever and then their side EO’s in everything else they wanted that we voted against. A scenario like that, and its easy to imagine, could be the end.
And even if we are able to stave off an immigration bill prior to the midterms, the GOP has made it an issue that will hurt them. The Dems can use the principles to attack each and every Rep running. Every Rep candidate will be asked in the local debate with the Dem whether they support the “Principles” or not.
You didn’t ask me direct RG but I’ll answer anyway.
This past week I have heard the name Jeb Bush more than in the past year.
Aw jeez....do they really think we’ll buy that?
“Do you think Jeb Bush is paying a price for a father and brother that were Presidents?” they thoughtfully asked.
Made me throw up in my mouth, forgive the crudity.
I double dare them to go with Jeb.
OK, got it, and thank you!
This morning I wrote my Congresswoman Martha Roby, both of my Senators, the Honorable Jeff Sessions and the RINO Richard Shelby, and the US Chamber of Commerce about this issue using many of your and other FReeper’s excellent words and explanations regarding this subject.
The gist was as follows:
Hi, Congresswoman Roby,
This Tuesday past I showed up at the Armory to vote for Mike H. for my district rep. I was surprised they postponed voting because of a little ole snowstorm! In any case I’ll be there this Tuesday to cast my ballot. I NEVER miss an election—ever. I am not surprised, sadly, that so few people show up to vote in these special and smaller elections. In the previous election for the same office a few months ago I was voter number 100 (by the machine count), and that was later in the evening. But again, as I said, I never miss a chance to do my civic duty.
Please vote NO on any and all so-called “Immigration Reform” bills.
Any legislation that allows the lawbreakers to stay and work here is amnesty—citizenship is just the cherry on top.
The border security first is also a scam. Ryan wants to issue “probationary” legalization to the 12 to 20 million lawbreakers. This essentially stops all enforcement and deportations except for some egregious criminal aliens. Those receiving “probationary” status would be allowed to work, get SSN’s, etc. This is the equivalent of the Z visa proposed in the McCain-Kennedy 2007 amnesty bill, which McCain said, like Ryan, that it was not an amnesty because the lawbreakers would have to pay a fine, learn English, and get to the back of the line.
We cannot even get a reasonable measure like Voter ID to be the law of the land because some Leftist judge declares it discriminatory. And even if the law is allowed, its based on drivers license/state ID, which is what the Boehner/Ryan bill will give the lawbreakers...
Who thinks they wont vote when La Raza comes to their front door with persuasion and bribes (paid for by democrat donors like George Soros)?
Its nothing less than PERMANENT democratic party hegemony. The end of the American Republic.
If “immigration reform” is so important, why is it so important to do it this year? Why not wait until next year when you can get your own bill through both Houses without having to be bullied by Hairy Reid, agreeing to their agenda, and letting them get all the political credit just in time for the elections? Rush Limbaugh made a declaration early this week: If the House votes for amnesty, the Republicans will lose the House. But they dont seem to care. Do you? If you vote for any bill, I will not vote for you. It is my litmus test.
Regards,

It certainly could mean the end of the Constitution if the Reps stand by and allow it to happen. We no longer have a President, we have a dictator.
Harry Reid has already started down that path with the nuclear option on the votes needed to confirm Presidential appointments.
I like the cut of your gist. If the Dems really wanted comprehensive immigration reform, they could have done it in Obama’s first two years when he had overwhelming majorities in Congress.
True at that point its how each one handles the issue. We need candidates with guts.
They can have an effective strategy if they invoke the economy every single time. Economic factors used to be the Republicans greatest strength (until the debt Congresses of 2000-2006).
They need to state always and continuously that any vote on immigration reform while millions of Americans are out of work, especially blue collar workers, would hurt them particularly, and the government should first and foremost work towards getting the economy back on its feet. That means ending regulations, laws and tax policies that hurt US businesses. Mention that if the democrats really cared about the unemployed, rather than extending their benefits a few more weeks they should join the Republicans in making jobs job 1 in the government!
You know its a friendly thread, jump in any time.
Same here, I have heard Jeb’s name over and over, he’s dead last on my list.
I think these are probably the 2 most evenly matched teams in a SB for sometime, so I think it’s going to be a very close game. For an enjoyable game for all, I’m hoping it will be that and not a blow-out (unless, of course, the Seahawks do the blow-out ;-)
I agree. Unless Manning mixes it up a lot, they aren’t the Cardinals and they aren’t going to have a running game.
I LOVE Russell Wilson, but he’s been off his game a bit the last few games (of course, the QB isn’t the only player on the field, so can’t blame everything on him). My complaint most of the year about the Hawks is the offensive line - - they really need to step up and I sure hope they do so today!
I grew up in Denver, so if the Hawks weren’t in this and Denver was, I’d be rooting for the Broncos, though, truthfully, the game wouldn’t be as exciting for me as it is now. We’re all just bubbling over with excitement.
Great job AB! We all need to follow your lead.
Catch you guys late going to see Jack Ryan.
