Isn’t that the truth. Some of our folks hear KGB, and automatically go into defense mode. I can understand it. I think we need to move beyond that a bit. We need Russia, and it needs us. Don’t go blindly to be sure, but there’s a storm a brewing, and we need Russian in our camp.

I think we blew it in the 1990's to engage Russia and we are paying for it. We could use Russia (and India) to face off against the Red Chinese.

The Lord works in mysterious ways.

If he can convert Saul, he can convert Vlad.

All the same, I'll watch what Putin does as well as says.

As it says somewhere in The Bible, even demons know to fear God.

I think Russia has every reason to. The Chinese are not Western Russia. There’s a big difference. The Chinese are doing the same thing to Eastern Russia that Mexico is doing to the United States. Russia can’t be blind to this. It isn’t necessary to make a big deal out of it, but Russia has more reason to need the West than it does to need China.

If China realizes it’s desires, Russia will be on the chopping block. Russia has less populace now than the United States. In it’s U.S.S.R. days, it was comparative to the United States population wise. It’s bad enough thinking of having to go up against China when it’s six to one. Imagine what it must be like to think of it in ten or twelve to one terms.

If China were to move against Russia in the future, think of the other areas where there has been unrest south of Russia. Those states may find it an opportunity to take on parts of Russia.

Seems to me a thinking Russian leadership might come to similar conclusions. I will say also, Vlad’s comments about the United States aren’t such that they are demeaning. They are in a sense corrective, almost as if he had an identity of sorts with the United States.

Since the Bush days I have thought we should have made inroads with Russia. I don’t mention Clinton, because what kind of a relationship would that guy have been qualified to work up with Russia, bringing Russian playmates over for his consumption?

At any rate, I think Western Russia would be ripe for the picking, if we were to play our cards right.

“...how weak Kennedy, Johnson, Nixon, and the American people were,...”

Nixon? Don’t know about him being weak on commies.

And I think the American people were a lot stronger THEN than now.

Don’t forget, we’ve had 50 years of liberal Pavlovian “conditioning” since then, and most of the generation that fought the communists and knew who and what they were are gone.

Meanwhile, those bastards that were here already - with help from their traitorous lib friends - just went right on teaching and preaching.

Russia did not criminal homosexuality..They.criminalized the the homosexual exploitation of children...the gay pride parades and such that glorify their lifestyles, within a certain distance of schools, I think. Putin does not arrest & imprison homosexuals, rather attempting to impede their ”progress” in his country. I say BRAVO to the Russians in trying to save their society from destruction of sexual immorality. I understand, also, that porn was only scarcely available there, ”underground,” until the wall fell & the floodgates of Western immorality opened.

The Russian govt is now ”awarding” young Russian couples who have more than one child. I believe it’s the equivalent of about $15K per child.

McCain hates him so he can’t be all bad.

I remember him saying he was an atheist when he visited Crawford, Texas. Did he get saved?

And when he dies, may he burn in hell for all eternity for the crimes he committed against the Russian people, for his support of dictatorships worldwide, and for convincing the gullible that a KGB agent can be something more than a KGB agent.

Amen

I’m one of those people who was suckered by Putin’s propaganda. I actually thought he was a fairly decent guy. Well, eventually propaganda is exposed to be what it is. One question though. I saw a comment where you said Ukrainian military/ police aren’t pro-Russian. It would sure appear that they are, based on the way they’re shooting protesters!

It’s because the country is so split. The contingent of police doing the shooting in the capital are mostly from Eastern/Southern Ukraine. Police from the western part refused to go and resigned in droves. Pressure is being put on them (by their neighbours, family, the community) to pick up the weapons and go protect the protestors. Yesterday’s “capture” of 30-40 policemen in Kiev is nothing more than mass defection. Some army colonel resigned yesterday. Another said if ordered, he will not open fire on the people. Names escape me, but can look it up if you like.

Besides the East/West split, there’s also that “just following orders” thing and what their superiors are telling them about the protesters
