Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said the set of immigration "principles" released Thursday by House GOP leaders suggest the door is open for reform.
"While these standards are certainly not everything we would agree with, they leave a real possibility that Democrats and Republicans, in both the House and Senate, can in some way come together and pass immigration reform that both sides can accept. It is a long, hard road but the door is open," he said in a statement.
Schumer is a leading author of the comprehensive immigration bill passed by the Senate last year, which House Republicans have rejected.
And like a dog to a Milk-Bone, this is what the GOP craves most.
"Really great, guys...you get a thumbs up from Chuck You Schumer."
I mean, just a few weeks ago, he was out urging the IRS to ignore the law and Supreme Court decisions in order to punish the Republican's base- the main group of people who vote for them in elections... And this is the same scumbag they aim to please and trust to play fair on legislation? It's beyond sickening.

Is Schumer trying to kill the House amnesty efforts ?
No, he is confident some kind of amnesty bill will pass the House and is happily twisting the knife into conservatives. All the Dems want right now is to keep the issue alive and continue dividing the GOP.
So the Dems will take Cantors bill and the Chamber of Amnesty payola. You can take that to the bank.

You're not alone. It became obvious when Paul Ryan and the House leaders cut benefits for Vets as part of the omnibus deal that something very morally troublesome was going on in the backrooms of the GOP. The fact of the matter is they simply don't care- they loathe the base; they feel they that all the beliefs that Conservatives have- especially on social issues (abortion, gay marriage, etc.)- are a dead weight to them.
The GOP-e members believe that they can look you in the eye and tell a bald-faced lie... and because you're probably just some "gullible, southern, hayseed rube" that you'll buy it all and still coming running to the ballot box in November. At some point people begin to ask themselves, why should I continue to support people who openly despise me, and take me for granted?...

Yes, they think they can snow us. My Gov. Scott is up for reelection. He is down in the polls and going to need every single consertvative vote he can get. I told his office I wasn’t voting for anybody with an (R) behind their name in November if the GOP passes ANY legalization this year. Keep it simple. Let them decide if they want our votes in November.

Immigration reform can be considered successful when amnesty results in no new citizenships being handed out.
