I think Howard Cosell on live TV was calling a football game many years ago, and said as an RB was breaking free and running for paydirt:
“Look at that Jungle Monkey run!!!”
I remember vaguely watching that at the time, I was slightly younger and did not have any parental units around to counsel me on how bad that terminology was...
So I blew it off, and never thought about it till other news outlets started making a big deal out of it...
Just goes to show who really did stir up the problem of race relations in this country...
