Win8 was the final straw for me. After a few days trying to figure out
where everything is it dawned on me that any time a run a program from the Metro UI,
I end up on the desktop. I just don't see the need for Metro. There were so many querks
that I took the plunge. I bought a screaming new computer and put Linux on it. Up until this system, Linux always got the hand-me-down from my Windows machines. Well not any more, it is the main desktop that everybody shares. I did put my old system in a VirtualBox VM just in case there's something I still need but there hasn't be a whole bunch of activity on it lately. Now I just need to convince my kids that iTunes is straight from the pit of all that is evil, I can get rid of the VM too.-
