Irony: Wendy Davis Lectures Greg Abbott About Struggling

In case you missed it yesterday, the personal story of late-term abortion heroine and Democratic Candidate for Texas Governor Wendy Davis has crumbled. Davis has repeatedly told the story of her struggle as a single mom who put herself through Harvard but it turns out, that story isn't true. An article published in The Dallas Morning News detailed the real situation of Davis' life. The details aren't pretty.

Davis was 21, not 19, when she was divorced. She lived only a few months in the family mobile home while separated from her husband before moving into an apartment with her daughter.

A single mother working two jobs, she met Jeff Davis, a lawyer 13 years older than her, married him and had a second daughter. He paid for her last two years at Texas Christian University and her time at Harvard Law School, and kept their two daughters while she was in Boston. When they divorced in 2005, he was granted parental custody, and the girls stayed with him. Wendy Davis was directed to pay child support.

Jeff Davis said that was right around the time the final payment on their Harvard Law School loan was due. “It was ironic,” he said. “I made the last payment, and it was the next day she left.”

Not surprisingly in an effort to take attention away from herself and her lies, Davis is now blaming her Republican opponent, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott, for "attacks" on her life and lectured last night on Twitter about the "struggles" Abbott just doesn't understand.

Two days ago, Abbott and his campaign sunk to a new low, making personal attacks on my family, my education, and my character. (1/4) — Wendy Davis (@WendyDavisTexas) January 20, 2014

Attacks won't work. Mine is the story of millions of Texas women who know the strength it takes when you're young, alone and a mother. (2/4) — Wendy Davis (@WendyDavisTexas) January 20, 2014

These attacks show that Greg Abbott's completely out of touch with the struggles that I faced and so many Texans face. (3/4) — Wendy Davis (@WendyDavisTexas) January 20, 2014

Like so many Texans, I'm proud of where I came from and proud of what I've been able to achieve through hard work and perseverance. (4/4) — Wendy Davis (@WendyDavisTexas) January 20, 2014

Abbott has been in a wheel chair since he was 26-years-old after a tree fell on him while running and paralyzed him from the waist down.

That moment when @WendyDavisTexas starts lecturing a man in a wheelchair about the struggle. — S?4N V?NKM4N (@MrFoPow) January 21, 2014

Unlike Davis, Abbott has never asked for pity or to be treated differently.

Nobody remembers main events in your life, like May 27, 1965 when I graduated grade school at age 13, May 30, 1969 when I graduated high school at age 17, Jun 19, 1972 when I got into the military at age 21, May 24, 1980 at age 28 when I got married.

Nope Wendy, you just don't remember those MAJOR events in your life or how old you were. You lied. You just tried to embellish the facts to make your story another "Oh look at me, a poor single mom".

Hard work and perseverance...on her back, apparently.

Stupid politician.

:: When they divorced in 2005, he was granted parental custody, and the girls stayed with him. ::

Anyone in the “party” or the press have stones to ask her why the girls weren’t aborted if they were such an inconvenience to her career? I mean, at least her first duaghter shold have been aborted...Wendy being such a champion of other single moms who make that decision.

Bueller?

If Abbott backs down, he could be finished as a candidate. Democrats are sniffing for a sign of weakness on his part. So many believe Davis, no matter what she ways.

Yeah, having Sugar Daddy pay for all of your law school expenses is a lot harder than being a paraplegic for thirty years. You tell ‘em, Wendy...

Several million Texans still believe her and always will. But will it be enough to elect her? She also has huge black and Hispanic support.

I agree. I’m just not sure why this is the big issue now outside of the Davis
campaign wanting to get this out now and be through with it come the general.
She’ll win the Democrat primary with ease as her only opponent isn’t really
any competition. He’s 70 years old and got only 5% of the vote in 2012 when
he ran for mayor of Corpus Christi.

:: But Morning News political reporter Wayne Slater, who wrote the story, said via Twitter Sunday that he had spoken to “zero” Abbot people ::

Has Slater, at any time in his career, provided news copy of any type to Fox News? That would be the connection Davis’ staff would point to.

“Nobody remembers...”

She probably misplaced her final divorce paperwork, so she couldn’t refer to that document for the exact date.

She probably didn’t even think to check courthouse/registry records either...Her being an attorney and all.

Not too mention, she was too busy pumping hubby #2 for tuition dollars to think about the ages at which her 2 kids “lost” their first father.
