Not so fast, Andrew Cuomo. We see what you did there. After publicly bashing conservative New Yorkers as "extreme" people who have no place in his state, the intolerant Democratic governor wants to blame the media for his unmistakable contempt for those who oppose abortion, support gun rights and defend traditional marriage.
Newsflash: Crapweasel politicians can backtrack and scapegoat, but they can't hide.
When he railed against socially conservative Republican candidates in a radio interview last week, Cuomo hyperbolically singled out those he called "right-to-life, pro-assault-weapon, anti-gay" citizens. Sounding unapologetically purge-tastic, the governor said these political opponents "have no place in the state of New York, because that's not who New Yorkers are." His bigoted comments provoked a fierce social-media-driven backlash led by devout Catholics and Second Amendment activists in the Empire State. And now, he's got job-creating, tax-paying conservative business people threatening to leave. Heckuva job, Andy!
In a desperate damage control attempt, Cuomo issued a statement claiming that the New York Post "distorted" his words. It's always the messenger's fault. The Shove Guv also accused his critics of being "entirely reckless with facts and the truth." Really? There was no equivocation in Cuomo's political eviction wish. Whether he was talking about conservative candidates and/or the voters and donors who support them, you can't get any clearer than "have no place in the state of New York."
Translation: You don't belong. Pack your bags. Don't let the door hit ya on the way out. Scram.

Extend your trip a little farther west and go to the Air Force Museum in Dayton. I’ve been several times and it is fantastic.
Five years ago, when my son was a junior at Purdue, his idea of Spring Break was a fathe-son trip to Cooerstown instead of going to Florida to drink beer and chase bikinis. How could I say no? It was definitely off-season and we could go through The Hall at our leisure. I got to tell him about all the guys I saw play. We stopped in Buffalo on the way back to catch a Flyers-Sabres game. It was a great trip.
I would love to see Rick Perry from Texas run commercials in New York telling them how much pro life conservatives and their business are welcomed in Texas.
Played right, this could be the end of any future political aspirations for Cuomo.
There needs to be a split. I would say the boundary would be at Orange and Dutchess Counties.
Cuomo was born on third and thinks he hit a triple...
If it wasn’t for ‘daddy’ he’d be selling shoes at JC Penney...
LOL! Now that’s hilarious and absolutely true!
Even though NY is a lib state Cuomo may just find a lot of backlash from his idiotic rant.
Cooperstown is a baseball`s fan must, loved it.
Holy cow. It looks like Hiroshima.
My wife and I thank the Governor for his bigoted statement - we were deadlocked as to whether to spend a portion of our spring vacation in New York City or Myrtle Beach, but after hearing that conservatives such as us weren’t welcome in NY it looks as though the money we’ll be spending on hotels, restaurants, shops and entertainment will be going to the good people of South Carolina.....
Problem for Cuomo was that he got so comfy with his lefty buddies interviewing him on NPR radio that he made a classic Freudian slip. And someone who's not a fan of his recorded it for all to hear. So to claim that his words were "distorted" makes no sense at all.
He said out loud what he and other 'Rats had been thinking for years, at the wrong time and place, as it turned out.
And then they can have the next state, and the next state, and the state after that...
“The smart Jews left Germany in 1933. The ones who tried to stick it out were gassed.”
The United States is the last, best hope of freedom.
We have no where to run to.
Stand and fight.
“...wondering if I should skip Cooperstown...”
My daughter is an ER nurse in the Emergency room at the hospital in Cooperstown. The entire area is very beautiful and worth the trip. I understand your sentiments to possibly skip the area; however, many decent and conservative people live around there too. Cooperstown itself has a greater concentration of transplanted NYC liberal anti fracking types than the surrounding countryside people who tend to be gun owners, however, the economy is struggling due to Cuomo’s anti fracking stance.
Of course I do not want to interfere with your decision making process, however, by punishing Cuomo, conservatives get caught in the struggle. Theoretically one could move, however they have a milking operation that they have been trying to build up, and her husband’s family has lived there for generations - easier said than done.
Having said that - I absolutely loathe Cuomo so support any anti Cuomo efforts in general.
IDK. Russia is starting to embrace Christianity and push back against the Muslim hordes.
I hate it for the pro-Americans in New York State, but you've got to starve the beast. Maybe they can move down here to Texas where we value Freedom.
I am a downstate ultra conservative. I relate mostly with you guys upstate and have spent many days haunting the fields and forests there in search of game. The problem upstate or down is the horrible showing Paladino did. 33%. Though personal freedom is bigger upstate there is way too many welfare moms there as here. And I saw more Obamacare stickers up there than down here.
I am willing to leave NY for America. Andy, son of the sfacheme Mario can buy my house and I will leave. I want half a Mil Andy. Get crackin’ (though not frackin’)
maybe they should say those things now that there a precedent for doing so...???
Especially if they did it right now while this is still fresh, that would be great.
Not holding my breath. GOP is the wimpy party.
“..starve the beast...”
I agree totally. How do we do it though? Almost all of states are infiltrated by the socialists. Even Texas has its liberal cities - I think - you can correct me on that. They (the liberals) have the control of the media (mostly), the universities and the public education/indoctrination in place. The scattered pockets of conservatism are shrinking, being surrounded and actively undermined.
I hate to sound pessimistic but we conservatives have probably already lost the numbers battle in terms of not having the majority- we may have passed the tipping point - I think we have. All conservatives ought to move to Texas and then it may just have to secede eventually.
We cannot give up of course, but we have to strategize based on the new reality. My daughters who are in their early 20’s have always been totally outnumbered by liberal peers - throughout high school, college, and on into their now budding careers. This may be anecdotal evidence, yet I see it as indicative of reality.
