This is a link to a video of nearly an hour that depicts the horror that the British military discovered at Bergen-Belsen after the Nazis were defeted. It was partially directed by Alfred Hitchcock. It is very hard to watch, but I believe, necessary so as not to forget what man can do to his fellow man.
TOPICS: Crime/Corruption; Foreign Affairs; Germany; Government
KEYWORDS: deathcamp; horror; nazi

Progressives will have NO problem doing this to conservatives and Christians in the not-so-distant future. They marginalize and dehumanize us at every step and just plain wish we didn’t exist. Most liberals think we, like Germany’s scapegoated Jews, are what is standing in the way of utopian “justice” and prosperity. If only they could dispense with us, they could achieve perfection!

I had never heard of this film. Thanks for posting.

There was a strange disconnect among the German people. There are interviews from the '70s where Germans said something along the lines of "not our Jews," meaning they always believed the Nazis were talking about Jews in some abstract way and never for a moment thought it meant the Jewish family down the street or the shopkeepers in their village. These same Germans were shocked when one day these same people disappeared from their homes and business.
I think this is troubling as I see evidence of this disconnect in present-day America.

Also, I have read the book The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom about a Christian family hiding some Jews, and the difficulties and horrors connected with it. The book was made into a movie.

Many thanks...I’d not heard of it. My library has both the book and the DVD...just reserved them both. Did you see the film?

I remember a series back in the eighties, “The World at War” and it showed similar images of the holocaust.

My VCR recording was over-the-air and the quality of the reception was just awful. I told the kids that before we finished, they’d be grateful for the poor quality. There is a line by the narrator very near the beginning where he describes the lovely town outside of the camp and how the British soldiers admired the place “until they felt a smell.”
In my opinion, the horror must not be allowed to be forgotten.

Just finished watching in its entirety. I think the vast majority of Americans have the same knowledge of the holocaust as I did. We know it happened, we've seen some awful pictures and some news clips and Hitler was behind it all.
Fortunately this video has been created and it throws the door wide open to the vastness of the whole horror of the camps..........
As a side note, with all the camps scattered across Germany, there's no way in hell the German citizens couldn't have known what was going on........

Yes, they had to at least have smelled the burning rotting bodies. The video was difficult to watch.
