~* IN MEMORIAM DAVID SWENINGSEN *~
Long time FReeper "Bruinbirdman", aka bbm. David Keith Sweningsen, passed away on June 9, 2013, in Las Vegas. bbm was a veteran and a patriot, and a prolific poster on Free Republic. Please post your memories of Bruinbirdman on this thread. He was a long time donor to Free Republic, and I'm sure any donation, large or small in his name would be greatly appreciated.
May he rest in peace. My sincere condolences to his family and friends. Cincinna

So sorry to hear this about bbm. I will say a prayer for his soul and for strength for his family. He will be missed.
I miss the “old days” chatting with him (and you) in the smoky back room. He was much too young!
YITBOS, BBM. Rest well, old friend, you fought the good fight and will be remembered.
On second thought, just enjoy yourself. We'll see you in a little bit.
Yeah I remember that. So sorry to hear of his passing.
Oh My so saddened to hear this. Dear man RIP.
A last greeting from Sweden,
WesternCulture
I am sorry to hear that. He was a nice guy.
Prayers for his family.
There has been a tremendous outpouring of prayers, love and friendship for departed FReeper bbm, aka Bruinbirdman. I hope his family is aware how much of an impact he had, and how much he will be missed.
For those of us who have tangled with him since 1998, it has been quite a ride. Starting with Monica Lewinsky and the blue dress, our mysterious FReeper, Quidam, the famous DITHF scandal , and our famous FReepers, Andrew (Andrew Breitbart) Tony Snow, BKO (Barbara Olson) and Trixie (Lucianne Goldberg). From the nail biting on FR every night during the 2000 election, and the final victory of GWB, when FR was very personal, and in full duplex, with the gang in the Alley, bbm was always a presence. Through bbm and his Y2K bunker madness, through 9/11 and now through the Obama madness, bbm kept posting away. Does anyone know how many articles he did post?
FR continues, as we say good bye and Godspeed to Dave. He is in a far better place. Yitbos, my FReeper friend, and thanks for the valentine.
Please continue to post your memories and condolences.
Thanks, Cincinna
RIP FRiend

yitbos - Mystery. Speculation includes something to do with frat boys, a Skull and Bones reference or even something Masonic, to a lame prank phrase used by posters to suggest they’re members of a special clique. A modern day version of Killroy Was Here, perhaps. (thanks, Tinian)
.. or may mean You’re In The Brotherhood Of Soldiers/Sailors
Ahhh Soooo Very scruitable!!!
My condolences. Thoughts and prayers for his family.
RIP, Bruinbirdman.
May yet another FReeper rest in peace. God bless his family.
RIP
I wondered what happened to him. His posts on market topics were interesting. Sad to see that he’s gone.
Oh darn, another class of 1998. RIP David.
“And flights of angels guide thee to thy rest.”
RIP. What sticks out in my head is the common interest we had in watching what the European Union is up to. Sorry for the belated condolences.
So sad to learn of this. Way too young.
Details? FReepmail me.
BTW, good to see you again. Sure miss the old days. :’(
