Big-time movie producer Harvey Weinstein revealed Wednesday that he is making an anti-gun movie with actress Meryl Streep that is going to make the National Rifle Association wish they werent alive.
During an interview with Howard Stern on his radio show, Weinstein said the new full feature drama will take the NRA head on. He also said hes never owned a gun and never will.
I dont think we need guns in this country. And I hate it. I think the NRA is a disaster area, Weinstein said.
After first telling Stern that he shouldnt reveal too much about his secretive film, the producer spilled the beans.
Im going to make a movie with Meryl Streep, and were going to take this issue head on. And theyre going to wish they werent alive after Im done with them, he added, referring to the NRA.
Weinstein said the film is not a documentary and will be a big movie like a Mr. Smith Goes to Washington. The Hollywood heavyweight was clear that he wants to scare people enough so that they dont want to be involved with guns.
When Stern challenged his anti-gun logic, Weinstein argued that he would find a gun if something like the Holocaust were to happen and his people were being marched into Auschwitz.
However, as the Washington Times Emily Miller points out: Mr. Weinstein has been watching too many movies if he thinks the good guys find fully-loaded firearms in convenient locations to use only when necessary.
Miller also notes that the chairman of the Weinstein Company is one of President Barack Obamas biggest fundraisers.
Seems to me that preventing the “Auschwitz” from ever being built in the first place would be the better idea.
Then again, I’m not a dumb-ass Libtard.

Here we go again, another guns-and-hunters-are-evil message movie.
Stanley Kramer peddled the same cr@p back in 1971 with “Bless the Beasts and the Children”. The marquee poster featured a scope sighted lever action rifle intended to horrify liberal moviegoers over the culling of bison herds.
Guess a .338 Lapua super rifle will furnish the frightful image this time. And aging ingénue Meryl Streep will lead the children into the bright new tomorrow.
Geez.......
This is such a great idea I think he needs to finance this with his own money.

So many Hollywood lefties nowadays are unshaven lardbuckets.
Just more proof of the injustices of capitalism, I guess.
“Weinstein argued that he would find a gun if something like the Holocaust were to happen and his people were being marched into Auschwitz.”
Hey moron, before “your people” were getting rounded up and marched into Auschwitz, they were disarmed.
This is precisely why I refuse to go to movies!
I'm glad to hear Hollywood liberals publicly admit that they make movies not for entertainment purposes but for brainwashing the American population into the leftist worldview and mindset. And just think, Americans are voluntarily queuing up and paying to see and hear the lies.
Amazing.

Correct.
Hitler thought the same thing about Jews....they don’t need no stinking guns!
He will convince no one against guns. He may make the libs feel “good” but will make gun supporters all that much more determined to keep their guns and support the 2nd Amendment and gun rights groups. These Hollywood elites are so full of themselves.
Weinstein’s meal ticket Quentin Tarantino on guns:
Tarantino: ‘Everyone has the right to own a gun’
Initially I think that everyone has the right to own a gun. I myself have one because I live alone in a large house and want to be able to defend myself, the 49-year-old director said.

You've got the wrong movie.
Bowling for Columbine cost Lumpy Reifenstahl about $4 million to make. It grossed over $20 million in the US and another $35 million overseas.
In response to Weinstein, I’d like to see a movie that starts out with the a woman, alone in her home, when a Bad Guy starts kicking in the door or coming through a window.
Terror-stricken, she runs upstairs to the bedroom where she bolts the door and dials 911. While the operator is telling her to keep calm and wait for the police, the BG kicks in the bedroom door and the woman screams - then a look of realization passes over her face and she opens the drawer to the nightstand, pulls out a .38 and shoots the BG.
“THE END” then scrolls up the screen. Total run time 2-3 minutes.
THEN, as people are looking at one another asking WTF?, the movie continues with either a blurb or the director telling the audience something like “OK, that’s what would happen if the woman had access to a handgun and we’d have no story to tell. However, let’s start again, without the gun and see what happens.”
