I divorced first husband (and was Catholic) due to him being a wife - beater, beat me when I was 7mos pregnant with our son..which resulted from him raping me after he beat me. I do pray the Lord finds this a justifiable reason to divorce.
Christ’s blood covers all sin. Divorce is sin. God hates divorce. Nevertheless, anything can be forgiven if one truly repents.

God does hate divorce yet He hates the fact that your husband was so violent. God never means for us to stay in such abusive relationships. God bless you and I hope you’ve found a new life and the peace only walking with the Lord gives us.
Also Catholic and divorced first husband for similar reasons (beating, rape) plus porn addiction and cheating. I prayed so hard for God to deliver me peace and for our marriage to be saved, and in return another girlfriend showed up. I don’t believe anyone should have to live in a marriage like that. If you were in prison, being abused by your captor everyday, would anyone fault you for escaping if you could?
