Ooh, Fatima. You almost stumped me.

One great one from some masters of harmony, CSNY

I think Neil Young wrote it:

Country Girl/Whiskey Boot Hill/Down Down Down

Too late to keep the change,
Too late to pay,
No time to stay the same
Too young to leave.

I have two fer ya...neither are cheerful.

Bob Mould - It's Too Late

Mould is a heap big lib, but I love his songwriting, playing and especially his voice. The message of this song could almost be turned around and pinned on the Obammunists and Commies, though.

This one has no video (yet), but I'm posting the lyrics:

The Storm - 10 Pound Test

The sky’s getting dark, the storm’s approaching, it’s coming in from the east.
Comin’ to wash us all away.
Those who wait, those who hesitate, like a lamb will be fleeced.
Those who fight could win the day.
The storm’s been brewing for quite some time, only we never stop to hear
The roaring wind and the rumble.
But now that it’s come we’re all gonna get wet, so steel your hearts and grab your gear.
And watch the life we know as it crumbles.

We’ve had it too good for far too long, the party’s come to a crashing end.
The days to come are gonna be a trial, if not to break, we’ve got to bend.
While we celebrate, while we eat and drink, our enemies are closing in.
Like vultures flyin’ low, circling around the remains of what has been.

I’m tired of trying, tired of talking ‘til I’m blue in the face.
Preaching to a choir that’s fast asleep.
‘Cause if you don’t know what we have in store, you’ll be blown away by the storm.
Led to the slaughter like a flock of sheep.

We blindly accept whatever we’re told by talking heads on the TV.
You don’t understand there’s so much more than what they give for you to see.
Every man and woman, you’ve got to ask yourselves am I ready to defend my rights?
Or are you so afraid that you’ll just submit and give up without a fight?

Chorus

I’m not that kind of man
I’m not that kind of fool
I refuse to abide
I won’t live by their rules
Take off your blinders and look around, the storm’s just outside
Will you draw a line, and take a stand, or run away and hide?

Solo

Chorus

Open your eyes to the world outside you
Open your eyes to the world outside you

Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!

A great loss - and I can assure you, not lost on me! I became conscious of music in the mid-50's and the Everly Brothers were one of first singers I liked.

America demands Justice for the Fallen of Benghazi!

O stranger, tell the Lacedaemonians that we lie here, obedient to their command.

Listen, O isles, unto me; and hearken, ye people, from far; The LORD hath called me from the womb; from the bowels of my mother hath he made mention of my name. (Isaiah 49:1 KJV)

To: fatima; a fool in paradise

There is a great tune and hit from the past year that has the words “too late” in the title. I’ve got several recordings and videos of it all from the web. No one has posted a link to it. Shame, while links to some old crap by Dereck and the Dominicans are posted.
