HONOLULU - President Barack Obama is going to give his wife the birthday present that many parents can only dream of - time off, alone, without the children.
The White House said on Saturday first lady Michelle Obama would stay in Hawaii, where the family has been on vacation for the last two weeks, rather than return home with her husband and their two girls.
"As part of her birthday gift from the president, the first lady will remain in Hawaii to spend time with friends ahead of her upcoming 50th birthday," a White House official said.
The president was leaving Honolulu late on Saturday after a vacation that was filled with several games of golf and dinners out. He and his children are scheduled to arrive in Washington on Sunday morning.
The Associated Press compiled a list of how President Obama spent his last day of vacation in Hawaii on Saturday:

Amazing how they said it was a “gift” from Obama. Can you imagine how much money it is going to cost taxpayers to keep secret service in Hawaii and then to fly her back alone? Then they will dare us to say anything about it and will scream that we would not have said a word if it was a white First lady.
Now the taxpayers can pay for separate security, a separate flight back to DC, a wonderful extended vacation when 17 days just isnt enough. Meanwhile 2/3 of the country prepares to deal with the Polar Vortex, deep snow and brutal cold. Not to worry Michelle, enjoy the islands, come on back to the mainland when you are ready to rejoin reality.
A gift that the US taxpayers will pay for.

Maybe they flew some of Michelle Antoinette's friends in from Chicago so she would have someone to talk to (other than her daughters Natasha and Malaria).
She does have lots of friends, though, case in point is her Grand European Excursion to Spain in which she brought, supposedly, 40 of her "closest friends", and the royal entourage occupied something like 70 rooms in the best hotels.
My birthday is next month. Any chance that Obama and the Federal Government might consider leaving me alone for a week or so?

There’s more to that relationship than meets the eye. She can go on and on about what a superior thinker and human being he is but we all know he’s an empty suit. She also knows there’s no there there and that’s why he was “chosen”.
Obama’s birthday gift to his wife???? What about the American Taxpayer’s birthday gift to his wife. Who do they think is picking up the tab for her extended stay, not to mention the cost of Secret Service protection and the extra flight just for her when she returns to Washington. I laugh when Obama talks about “Income Inequality” while he lavishly spends taxpayer dollars on his and his wifes vacations. Bush went on “vacation” to his ranch in Texas which the Washington Press Corps hated. But they all love Obama because he goes to Hawaii.
If she has then it’s bad news for school kids. Means they’ll need to be prepared for another round of mandatory “healthy” starvation meals at school.
I guess you missed the point that the kids are going to DC with Barak. Only Moochie and whoever she flies in to “prepare” for her birthday will be staying behind. Two week Girls Gone Wild, taxpayer funded, version.

What I suggested was that they might have had some of Michelle Antoinette’s friends imported so she would have someone to talk to WHILE King Barry was there.

That being said, we need to keep BroncoB ON vacation. That I will pay for... as long as he isn't allowed access to any ink pens for the next few years, it'll save us trillions.
I think that they retrofitted C-130 for hauling livestock and Mooch flies that around.
