Embattled Democratic candidates promise to fix Obamacare

For months, Sen. Mary Landrieu had been honing her message on Obamacare in advance of a tough 2014 re-election bid in Republican-leaning Louisiana.

Then, in November, Americans for Prosperity, a conservative group funded by the billionaire Koch Brothers, ran a scathing ad accusing Landrieu of “backtracking and avoiding accountability” in her support for Obamacare. The ad buy was big and aired widely, and Landrieu's team felt compelled to offer a more full-throated explanation of where she stood on the new health care law.

So Landrieu launched her first ad of the mid-term elections in December — nearly a year ahead of election day — portraying herself as someone prepared to fix, rather than abandon, the health care law. The ad includes news clips of Landrieu talking about legislation she introduced to allow millions of Americans who had health plans canceled to keep those plans indefinitely.

“I’m fixing it, and that’s what my bill does, and I’ve urged the president to fix it,” Landrieu said in the ad. Seemingly turning on President Obama, a fellow Democrat, Landrieu added, “This is a promise you made, this is a promise you should keep.”

The Democrat Party is the Communist Party of America.

They are enemies of the Republic.

A time of choosing is now upon us.

Change has indeed come to Amerika.

Man, it must be fun to hold office in D.C. They’ll throw their dignity out the window if that’s what it takes to get re-elected. And lots of other things.

She will win re-election because her people vote and Conservatives have better things to do than vote.

Yep; so much better to sit at home and split hairs over a single social issue. That'll show em!

Despite what Freepers would like to see, her strategy might work. Arguing against Obamacare from the points of constitutionality, free-market, etc, work only for those who care about such issues, but not for other people who care about their immediate financial problems. Scotus’s decision makes it even harder to convince people on the street that it’s problematic legally.

So, Republicans need to be ready with this line of attacks, together with rich/poor issues. Not startled the way some candidates did in the past when the msm brought in abortion/ women issues.

Freepers far and wide called this the second Roberts sold the country out. Politicians would be promising to fix this monstrosity, not get rid of it.
And here we are. This thing is a political tool worse than the tax code. Neither party wants to see its demise, too much campaign money for “fixing” things in it from the lobbyists

Embattled Democratic candidates promise to fix Obamacare

I broke one of those curly tailed light bulbs today. I suppose that with a team of engineers and enough replacement elements it could conceivibly be "fixed" but the odds are rather long against it.

Instead, I swept it up and threw it in the trash, the same should be done with obamacare.

She sold her ‘deciding vote’ in exchange for the “Louisiana Purchase”.

I’m sure there is video out there that says that.

She did not read it. She has defended it after we found out what was in it and said she would vote for it again. Mary is dead meat in the next election.

Does she explain what her ‘fix’ is? Or will she sign that too, to find out what’s in it later...?

It looks like she made a "dear diary" entry, called it a potential bill, and will follow up with more entries to indicate how hard she is working to single-handedly "fix" it. She would probably get more support from her stoooopid base by just turning against it and trying to kill it.
