If she were truly sorry, she would voluntarily take a leave of absence for a couple of weeks - without pay. I know it will never happen, but it’s what an honorable person who made an egregious error would do. And it would distinguish her as a person of humility and class. Which by trying to soft-pedal the whole thing, she obviously is not.

However, it is possible that, like Bashir, she'll decided to 'resign'. That ends the controversy and saves the network from appearing as if they disagreed with her mocking an adopted black baby sitting on Mitt Romney's lap. I’m not so sure her job is ‘hanging by a thread’. Phil Griffin, the MSNBC pres. wants his gang to behave rowdy, he wants the wild and unruly zealots on his station. It would not surprise me for MSNBC to have a Muslim Brotherhood sympathizer for Morsi to be given a show of some type, just knowing this act would enrage and concern people. This station thrives on misery. Perry is stretching this story out for yet another week. Stretching it out like Turkish Taffy.
