O ver two dozen houses which were built by Hollywood star Brad Pitt's charity for the victims of 2005 Hurricane Katrina have started to rot from the inside out.
While the blame-game is on between the Pitt's charity 'Make It Right New Orleans' and the house building company, the owners of the houses, which are situated at the Ninth Ward in New Orleans, are worried about the deteriorating condition of their homes, reported Radar Online.
"The wood turned gray and it was also black," a homeowner, who has been living in the house for four years, said.
"Also some parts it was buckling and it had mushrooms growing out of it. Different neighbourhoods saw it too."
A representative for the charity has responded to the complaint and held the company responsible, which provided a plumber for the house that sits on a moist land.

See what happens when you worship the earth?
Were they build out of compost?
But he “CARES”, that’s all that matters.
what are they complaining about? it is returning to the soil
they should dance around in a circle and pray to Gaia
I’m surprised that mushrooms don’t grow out of everything on the Gulf Coast.
When they took the arsenic out of treated wood I noticed more warping on the green treated lumber.
(Meaning we get to rebuild the deck again and use even more wood.)
Gaia is going to be pissed.
So what did they build these houses out of....paper?
sounds like a good reality show in the making...
Who wants to bet that the occupant of the house didn’t even Windex the windows?? Probably sitting on their ass expecting a monnthly service to come in and take care of upkeep.
I think they’re referring to “green” gypsum board-AKA sheetrock.
If global warming had gone the way it was predicted the Mississippi would have dryed up and there would be no moisture problem,
Bush`s fault !
That would explain the mushrooms.
Maybe they should try some asbestos :)
If they were given a house, did they think they wouldn’t have to take care of it?
"When they took the arsenic out of treated wood I noticed more warping on the green treated lumber. (Meaning we get to rebuild the deck again and use even more wood.) Gaia is going to be pissed."Yeah, they had to take the arsenic out of the wood cuz those who eat carpet got a little to close to the wood.
They were built with good intentions and that is all that counts to a collectivist!
So they are biodegradable?
I can’t believe I would side with Pitt or his envo wackos, but this is a bit of piling on.. Yes, we know and so should anyone that believes in this Mother Earth religion, that it’s bogus, but thats their problem.. I believe he was trying to do something his celebrity could accomplish, however stupid for all involved..
The arsenic (CCA) treated lumber that killed young children even if they just looked at it is still available. You just need to go to a lot of trouble to get your hands on it. The stuff previously found in big box stores was .4 or .6 pcf. The really good stuff is 2.5 pcf. That was never in the big box stores. It’s still available too.
The marine grade, 2.5 pcf, is a very dark green, almost black color. If you’re near a coastal area, it’s easier to find.
