Imagine this: In the early morning, a barrage of more than 1,000 Chinese ballistic and cruise missiles bombard Taiwanese civilian and military targets.
As the U.S. Air Force stationed in Okinawa prepares to rush to the aid of its sworn ally, Chinese cyber attacks wreak havoc on America's air defense and targeting systems. A second volley of ballistic missiles detonates in space, destroying critical military satellites, while a third rains down on the base, damaging jets and leaving runways unusable.
Meanwhile, a U.S. carrier strike group led by the USS George Washington has launched from Japan and is steaming towards the Taiwan Strait. Without the advanced warning and additional data supplied by satellites, the group's missile defense systems are at a disadvantage against the Chinese "carrier killer" missiles that are streaking towards them. Defense systems do their best, but a few missiles still hit their mark, leaving the USS George Washington's flight deck unusable. America's awesome air and sea power has been sidelined.

Our appetite for Chinese made garbage has fueled Chinese expansion. If it were to suddenly stop, a massive economic contraction would have to occur. To avoid such an economic implosion, China would have to A.) find new markets for their inferior quality merchandise immediately or B.) put themselves on a war footing immediately. There may be an option C but I don’t see it and, IMHO, option A is just thrown in there for the sake of argument because there is no other market for their crap. It would be option B.

Well here’s a good reason to throw more money at the defense industries.
China is trying to assert themselves globally. So, it’s to be expected. Is conflict inevitable, yepper. Could it escalate?
Probably but I believe unlikely.
The US cannot be defeated and occupied.
Some good would come out of it, i.e. all of this gloBULLism and so called Free Trade and offshoring nonsense would end ONCE AND FOR ALL.

there are plenty of guys still alive who faced them in Korea 50-53. Chinese commanders have no regard for their soldiers lives and send them en mass. Chinese soldiers are hopped on some weed - and the bugles — Their strength is in their numbers.
And thanks to the one child policy and the resultant surplus of unmarried males, a war to thin out their numbers to avoid them causing trouble might actually be a benefit.
Bring ‘em on. Once ashore here, they are toast. No, not because Bambies watered down defenses stop them but because WE stop them. 2nd Amendment. Then we stop the crazies in DC.

Perhaps one, maybe. As weak as the will of the American people is, I’d think we’d fold under a conventional attack
They will take Taiwan by attrition through disputes mediated by the UN. The US can no longer get sanctions through the Security Council if Russia or China veto. The US will not be allowed to use force to defend Taiwan if our government wanted to, and it is too risky to do so unilaterally as a rogue aggressor nation.
China is too smart to give the slightest legal provocation to US assets, and will just dime Taiwan to death with minor dispute after minor dispute.
It's only a matter of time and the Chinese have forever, having figured out how to grow their economy and not crash it. Taiwan is done, but we don't have to be.
Their space program is up and coming, but they have plenty of successful examples they have used to advance their technologies, along with outright intellectual theft, which is the Chinese way. Not to belittle their achievements.
Their ambitions and plentiful funds at this time are admirable, even though they are due to our excess and distraction. If their economy survives their own “bubbles” and continues to advance, we have nobody but ourselves to blame for falling behind.

I’ve “discussed” this issue many times on other sites with people who feel China is nothing to worry about.
quantity over quality. Same is building for China’s military.
