• As many as two attackers cut all phone service - both landline and cellular - to PG&E's Metcalf substation
• Over 100 rounds of ammunition were fired at several transformers
• Several were damaged, others shut down after leaking coolant caused them to overheat
•The FBI initially believed the attack may have been linked to the Boston Marathon bombing a day earlier

I wonder if those who produced this even watched something like Band of Brothers... hell, marching-band is more "military operations" than two guys shooting a bunch of equipment.

Could we classify the police presence in Boston earlier this year as a military style occupation?

Hm, perhaps. I'd have no qualms calling it a military-style operation, but occupation implies a taking/holding which didn't clearly happen.
