Melissa Harris-Perry Panel Mocks Black Romney Grandchild As Token
The Right Scoop ^ | 12/30/2013 | Caleb Howe

The panelists start laughing the moment the photo is on the screen, because obviously. Then the first response is Pia Glenn off-camera sing-songing “one of these things is not like the others, one of these things just isn’t the same” and the rest of the panel chuckles along. It’s funny because Romney is white and his grandson isn’t, which is obviously hilarious. Because as everyone knows, the races should not mix.

But it’s even better than just hilarious, it also makes you think! ...

‘Duck Dynasty’ Stars Willie & Korie Robertson Say They ‘Will Adopt Again’

Wed, October 16, 2013

The ‘Duck Dynasty’ couple have had so much joy come out of the adoption of their son that they are completely open to adopting another child. Willie explained that he and Korie would love to expand their family to include another little ‘duckling!’

Korie and Willie Robertson were forever changed when they adopted their son, Will, when he was a baby. In addition to becoming advocates for adoption, the couple revealed that they would love to open their home to another child.

When asked if he would consider adopting again, Willie said “sure.” He has become passionate about adoption since learning how wonderful it is to be able to grow a family. “There are plenty of kids who need homes,” Willie told In Touch Weekly. That’s why we’re all here. We have adopted children and we have natural children … and there’s no difference between them.”

Willie and Korie adopted their son Will — now 11 years old — when he was just 5 weeks old.

From the moment we found out about him, he was ours,” Korie told the audience at the Oct. 9 Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute Angels in Adoption Gala in Washington D.C. “I swear, I had labor pains the night before I went and picked him up at the foster home he was living at. He’s our child, just like our biological children.”

“Duck Dynasty” star Willie Robertson and his wife, Korie Robertson, say when they adopted their son ‘Lil Will,’ they didn’t have the money for the adoption fee.

Speaking at the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute’s Angels in Adoption Gala in Washington, D.C., Willie explains, “We said, ‘We’re good for it — we’ll come back.’ ... We’ve paid it, by the way.”

Korie was in tears as she accepted the award. “From the moment we found out about [Will], he was ours,” she says . “I swear, I had labor pains the night before I went and picked him up at the foster home he was living at. He’s our child, just like our biological children.”

Willie adds, “I’ve done a lot of cool things in the past couple of years, I’ve been to Super Bowls, I’ve met Presidents — but the best decision we ever made — that made the biggest impact on our life was the adoption of our son Will.”

Willie previously spoke of ‘Lil Will’s’ adoption during a speech he gave at his alma mater, Harding University in Searcy, Ark.

“We went into marriage wanting to know that we wanted to adopt,” Wille says. “He’s biracial, he doesn’t look like us, and it was the most — probably — selfless thing that we had done. Got pregnant a month later ... that wasn’t planned. So we have two twins — one weighs 165, one weighs about 65.”

Willie compares the situation to the one illustrated in the Bible. “That’s what God did with us,” he says. “Jesus is [God’s] son, and we are [God’s] adopted children. So I can look at my two sons that I have, and literally see the New testament unfolded right there.”

In addition to ‘Lil Will,’ Willie and Korie have raised foster daughter Rebecca as their own child after first hosting her as an exchange student. “There shouldn’t be kids without homes,” Korie tells People. “It just shouldn’t happen.”

The couple also has three biological children, Sadie, John Luke (’Lil Will’s’ twin), and Bella. Sixteen-year-old Sadie has recently made a name for herself by designing a line of prom dresses, hosting “American Idol” winner Scotty McCreery at her Sweet 16 party, and starting her own web series, “The New Different,” on YouTube.

This was my first thought when I heard about this. They are jealous of people like the Romneys who are doing things that they can’t or don’t do. It’s the same with the controversy about American Indian children being adopted by whites. A few of these people would almost rather the children languish in foster homes or institutions than be adopted by somebody of a different ethnicity.

That being said, I didnt see the show, but think that people may be overreacting just a bit. Was it in bad taste? Yes. If the situation were reversed, would conservatives catch a lot of heat? No doubt. But compared to a lot of the filth churned out by MSNBC. It’s just run of the mill fun-poking, probably it was not so much what they said as the way they said it. I’m sure the Romneys are used to it, and their child will get used to it too. I think that everybody has has the experience of doing something good and having people ridicule you, maybe in a gentle, passive-aggressive way, but ridicule nonetheless. After awhile, you realize that it’s more about them than you and just carry on doing what you think is right. Meanwhile you notice that these people seem never to so much as throw a nickel in a Salvation Army kettle and all they really are good for is finding fault with what others do.

Who is the sibling?

I assume it is Barry's maternal half-sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, born 1970, in Jakarta, Indonesia.

She was fathered by Lolo Soetoro, supposedly Stanley Ann's second husband. The last I read her permanant residence is in Hawaii.
