“The context was...
...sexploitation...
...possible/likely? force & coercion...
...a person in a place of trust (a missionary) misusing it for either of the above mispurposes... “
I don’t give two hoots in a holler what the context was.
A 16 year old male is supposed to be well on his way to being a young man. He is certainly no child. And should not be treated as one or referred to as one.
And I just can’t resist that last line “a person in a place of trust (a missionary) “
If you think the law should place a Mormon missionary (who tends to be 18 to 20 or thereabouts, BTW) in the same category as a real clergyman or teacher you are nuts. Plain and simple nuts.
The last thing any knowledgeable and sane person is going to do is hold a cult recruiter in such high regards.

well the Mormons call that Mormon kid an ELDER and put him in authority and knowledge and importance OVER all Christian clergy, even the Catholic pope..
so what do you think ???
since the Mormon kid claims to be superior to Billy Graham and the pope, shouldn’t he as an adult and a RECOGNIZED “anointed” and “ordained” minister of the Mormon gospel of Joseph Smith also be accountable ??
it would be nuts to give him a pass since nobody forced him to be a Mormon Elder ...
18 yo missionaries was a new 2013 development for the Lds church; in 2012 when this occurred, they were disallowed.
And, as I said, there's LOTs of part-time youth workers who are college-aged who work for (non-Lds) churches.
