CONNECTICUT GUN OWNERS WAIT IN LINE TO DO SOMETHING MANY GUN OWNERS HOPE THEY NEVER HAVE TO

Connecticut residents waited in long lines on Thursday to register their firearms and high-capacity magazines before the state’s new gun laws go into effect on Jan. 1, 2014.

WFSB-TV reports that a “long-line of people” stood outside the Public Safety Building in Middletown, Conn., all day to register semi-automatic rifles and high-capacity magazines. Several residents were upset with the “unconstitutional” requirement, while at least one person didn’t appear to mind.

“I understand why they’re doing it, but I don’t think it’s constitutional,” resident Scott Boccio told WFSB-TV as he was registering his guns.

Charles Gillette, who was registering magazines, told the news station that he would have a problem with it if the state was trying to ban the magazines or firearms, but said “if they want to just know where they are, that’s fine with me.”

However, not one gun owner who was registering firearms or magazines said they think the new laws will reduce gun violence.

“If people are going to do things illegally, they’re not going to be here registering their gun,” Jared Krajewski, another resident registering firearms, said.

For now, in Connecticut, the law is the law. The new gun control measures were put into place following the tragic school shooting in Newtown, Conn.

State police Lt. Paul Vance said that gun owners must fill our forms completely and some may require a notary.

I’m curious how many actually registered said mags and guns. I know people en the more rural parts of the state who had a tragic boating accident after they law passed.

Do you suppose everyone in that line was a State gov’t employ stooge trying to make it look like there is great happiness about conforming to the new confiscation law?. Pretty much like the Kenyan’s fake Deathcare registrants who claimed they were really impressed with the ease of signing up? You Conn folks try to remember who is in that line-—you’ll need to know later when they come in for their new brown shirts. Or maybe their National Park Service Uni’s.

I swear there are no men left in CT ... just a bunch of metro-sexual, henpecked eunchs that can’t control their women, children or government.

I live in Maryland so that’s probably next on the agenda but if and when it does.. I’ll have lost or misplaced all my weapons.

Why not stand up and fight?

Only reason this happens is because we let them violate our Constitutional rights. Those rights are only good, obviously, if we do not allow infringement.

But we do so....here we go, the end is in sight.

One can always put a 2 X 4 holder on each side of the door and put in a 2 X 4 across the door, no one will get into the house even with those steel thingys that they use to bust open your door..

Montag's wife and I think alike.

This "solution" will NEVER take any weapon away from the criminals. They'll always be armed.

Once upon a time, Connecticut residents wouldn't have been lining up to register their weapons - they would skipped a few steps, burned the place down, and tarred and feathered the King's bureaucrats.

But then, there was a time when Massachusetts residents would also have done the same thing. Now they are lining up to meekly get ObamaCare, like the rest of us.

Hmmm. Good point. Only let one or two people in at a time, and use the copier on the 5th floor instead do the one on the 1st floor to drag it out as long as possible, to make it look much longer that it is.

Oh, for the days when the Courts could be depended upon to uphold our constitutional rights. It was a good and decent nation, for a while.

The Real Second Amendment:
The right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed, except as follows:

If you are convicted of certain crimes, you cannot have a gun.
If you are not of sound mind, you cannot have a gun.
If you are chemically dependent or an alcoholic, you cannot have a gun.
If you defend yourself against a minority attacker, you are guilty until proven innocent.
If you live in certain cities, you can only have long guns, and not hand guns.
If you go into certain buildings, you cannot have a gun, many of the buildings being public buildings.
If you have a certain kinds of guns, you need a license that is granted by the whim of a sheriff in some states and counties.
If you want guns with a certain capacity of magazine, you cannot have them in many places.
If you want a pistol, you need to be 21 (being an adult of military service age is not good enough).
If you don’t convince law enforcement that you have a special need to carry a weapon, then in some places they may willy-nilly deny you the right to use or carry one.
If you do not pay a tax when you purchase the weapon, you cannot have one.
If you do not use ammunition made of non-lead components, you may not have it in some places like California.
If you want a weapon that fires more than once with each trigger pull, you need a special license.
If you want to carry a pistol in many places, you much produce your fingerprints and submit your name to law enforcement.
If you want a pistol, a record must be kept by the commercial seller for a certain length of time for review by law enforcement purposes.
If you use your weapon to defend yourself, you will need to bear the burden of proving, in a practical sense, that you were justified, and no one will reimburse you for your time or costs.
If you own a pistol in some states, you must pay a fee for the privilege.
If you own a pistol in some states, you must pay for training and a certificate of that training.
If you want a weapon you may not bring it on school grounds, government buildings, or other locations, even if there is no screening for weapons.
If you buy and sell weapons and ammo, you need a license.
In many places you must give the registration of the gun to the local law enforcement.
Etc. Etc. Etc.

I understand why they're putting us on the box cars, but I don't think it's constitutional.

No way would I comply. And now we see why people still won't take to the streets. It can, and it is, happening here, right before our eyes.

I will not go quietly. I don't care how many laws they pass.

This is not the same country as Connecticut. It’s amazing the difference in responses. If they tried that here, or Alabama, or Texas.... Why should we live under the laws created by pols elected by sheep?
