Merry Christmas, Marine....hope everyone had a good day.
Nice weather? Good food?
Pipe me aboard Boatswains Mate.
Read: Job 2:3-13
After 20 children and 6 staff members were murdered in a Connecticut school, the entire nation was stunned that such a horrific thing could happen. Everyone focused on the tragedy and the questions surrounding it: What kind of person would do such a thing, and why? How can we prevent it from happening again? How can we help the survivors? Amid the chaos, an unlikely group moved in and made a difference.
From Chicago came dogs specially trained golden retrievers that offered nothing except affection. Dogs dont speak; they simply offer their presence. Children traumatized by the violence opened up to them, expressing fears and emotions they had not spoken to any adult. Tim Hetzner of Lutheran Church Charities said, The biggest part of their training is just learning to be quiet.
As we learn from the book of Job, people in grief do not always need words. Sometimes they need someone to sit silently with them, to listen when they need to speak, and to hug them when their sorrow turns to sobs.
God may not intervene to change circumstances and He may not explain suffering, but He comforts us through the presence of other believers (Col. 4:8).
Warmer today. Got up into the low 20’s.
Nice quiet day at home with the immediate family.
Sounds like a lovely day, friend. :)
Thank you, Publius, for Rachmaninov’s “The Star Spangled Banner”.
Did you dine well today?
I can certainly imagine.....just watching them play and learn is so much fun.
Go away! LOL!!
Did you have guests today? Were you a guest?
It’s never gotten above zero here today.
Hey, Luv.....did Odessa have a big Christmas production in the last couple weeks...possibly at a church? Sorry I don’t have any details. My niece has been around Texas for the last few weeks and her company (really new to her) is doing Christmas programs. She is traveling up here today to see her mom, and she will visit us when she can.
Odessa was one of the cities mentioned.
Her Dad left today to drive a truck full of production equipment back to Los Angeles (I think) via Las Vegas, the same route he took getting from Cali to Texas. Maybe picking up stuff in Vegas.
Good evening, now morning, Mayor.
Did you have a wonderful with family? Hope you had good weather with no more flooding.
Thank you for today’s sustenance for body and soul. What a great message. So often no words are necessary. Just being there is the most comfort.
Sorry I missed you. *HUGS* Needed some Mom time as my sister from California called.
Did everyone in Castle MacNessa enjoy Christmas?
Excellent food and maybe a little wine?
My phone says it is 19 in you town. It’s -4 at my house.
Relaxing day and all the kids came over tonight, Truly enjoyable time.
Been cold so no more flooding thank God!
Merry Christmas Kathy and Thank you.
Yes! Our First Baptist Church just built a new auditorium and did put on a huge production right before the holiday. It is truly a small world. :)
I can’t wait to talk to Ashlie....she may have been there. I’ll let you know.
She has been involved in big productions in Houston area churches for several years...planning, directing, running the boards. Now, with the new company, she is learning, among other things, to be the one that makes the angels, etc, “fly”.
How cool! I can’t wait to hear what she says!
