After Phil Robertson, the patriarch of "Duck Dynasty," made controversial remarks about homosexuality that were published in GQ magazine, former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin spoke out in his defense.
However, when asked by Fox News host Greta Van Susteren if Robertson's remarks were offensive and whether or not she had any objection as to how he worded his comments, Palin said she didn't know what Robertson had actually said, Politico reports.
I havent read the article. I dont know exactly how he said it, Palin explained on Fox Newss On the Record With Greta Van Susteren" on Monday.
On December 18, shortly after the "Duck Dynasty" controversy began, Palin took to Facebook where she wrote, "Free speech is an endangered species. Those 'intolerants' hatin and taking on the Duck Dynasty patriarch for voicing his personal opinion are taking on all of us."

Actually... defending Sarah here is wrong (and I like her and generally agree with her). But look.. she was on television answering questions about the deal and she didn’t even bother to read the actual statements. Seriously... that doesn’t cut it anywhere. Imagine going into a board room meeting at work to discuss anything and then telling everyone there that you haven’t read anything about what you’re suppose to be talking about. That you’re clueless. These bonehead stunts are why she is such an easy target for the left.
I read the article and was pleasantly surprised. The author is a northeast city dude who got seduced by the lifestyle of the Robertsons.
I agree. Not being prepared to discuss the topic in an informed way while on Fox news is just dumb. If she can’t even take 20 minutes to read the interview before talking about it I’m not interested in what she has to say about it.
Reminds me of what happened on Capitol Hill with Obamacare.
While I like Sarah Palin, the cultish adoration is a bit over the top...
I mean... I hope if any of us were to go on television to answer questions about anything, that we would prepare better than she did.
I’m sure she read the quotes that have accompanied almost every story about this. I haven’t read the entire article either.
Your post #61 might be tough for some here to swallow, but it is entirely correct. Because of the media’s bias, it is not a level playing field. Conservatives have to be extra careful in what they say, but liberals do not.
Thanks....
Neither have most of Robertons critics.
Balderdash! I love that Sarah Palin did not feel the need to go into the details to defend something as basic as the Freedom of Speech and for that matter Freedom of Religion too.
If these 2 basic rights and the constant assaults from the left are too much for you to bear than please by all means enjoy your coming servitude. As for me, William Wallace and Sarah Palin - Freedom till the last dying breath!
Big deal. 535 members of congress failed to read the ACA bill/law. Yet that deterred none of those who favored it from making promises about its scope and supposed advantages. In fact, many who never read it still laud the good it supposedly contains.
Conservatives like Palin need to speak out, in fact they MUST speak out!
But the fight for the soul of our country is not being fought on a level playing field. Liberals are allowed many mistakes, conservatives are allowed but a few. That's reality. It's just the way it is, for now.
It's like a football game where Team A is allowed four downs per series, but Team B is allowed only two downs per series.
If Team B wants to win the game, they must be very careful, and be very prepared.
If we conservatives want to win this country, we must be very careful, and be very prepared. That's just the way it is, for now.
Oh but I do understand! It’s not necessary for Sarah Palin to try to level this playing field, nor any other singular personality, none can really - NO ONE
- only public perception can level the playing field so ultimately what, or how much, or how far will the media and the powers that be go [the proverbial straw that breaks the camels back] to wake the public up from liberal progressive democratic socialists to reality?
Why would it matter if she didn’t read what he said? He is within his rights to say anything he wants in response to a question, and that is the comment she made from the beginning.
Good point
LOL. Like those who attacked Phil who have not read the interview.
And, as long as she speaks like that (completely unprepared) then she'll continue to be an easy target of the left. And, rightfully so.
We need conservatives who will speak out. Absolutely.... but we need them prepared and with their brain in gear.
Went to the wrong one. Sorry leaning right :) Merry Chritmas btw!
Obviously you dislike her enough to beat this subject to death.
So we’ll keep backing the Dem-approved RINOs and keep losing the country. Good plan.
As far as I’m concerned, she knew enough about the subject to know that Phil Robertson was being targeted for destruction by the left because of his Christian values. Just because she hadn’t read the entire article doesn’t disqualify her from making this observation. And I’m glad that she speaks out instead of cowering.
