A Russian Orthodox Church official in the Siberian region of Tomsk sparked controversy after publishing an article calling unwed mothers “whores.”
Maxim Stepanenko, head of the Missionary Department of the Tomsk Diocese penned an article titled “So many whores in the land of Tomsk! We have no future!”
The article, published on k-istine.ru on December 4 and since deleted, pointed to federal statistics saying that 28 percent of children in the Tomsk region were born to unwed mothers in 2012.
According to a cached version of the original, Stepanenko also called on the “rehabilitation of the word ‘blyad’,” The word is an obscenity connoting “whore” in modern Russian, but an Old Church Slavonic version of it signified “adulterer.”
He argued that co-habiting couples have no future.
The Church distanced itself from Stepanenko’s article, with a priest in the Tomsk Diocese calling it “his personal opinion,” RIA Novosti reported on Wednesday. The priest also suggested that Stepanenko’s views were mistaken, according to comments cited by RIA Novosti.
Stepanenko deleted the article, explaining in a new version that he had done so reluctantly.
But his comments drew criticism from other church leaders. Archdeacon Andrei Kurayev wrote in a LiveJournal post on Wednesday that unwed mothers who chose not to abort deserved respect and not derision, and said that Stepanenko should look for another job.

When women get pregnant-—it is usually because the women want to get pregnant or too drugged to care. (Their own fault). Also-—women who get raped are usually setting themselves up to get raped and they know it.
That is my experience and I have known women who got pregnant and gave their babies up for adoption.....cause the man wouldn’t marry them. Women have much more control over their sexual instincts than a man-—and that is the nature of man/woman.
There is a big difference-—unlike what the media is trying to portray-—that men and women are exactly the same and interchangeable.....it is such a lie-—like all they say and do. It is to blur the line “for the children” for a Marxist/homosexual worldview (erasing of Christian Ethics by the God is Dead crowd.)
Now-—I am talking about a culture without those hordes of raping muslims like Europe has........those cultures are no longer civil societies. In those places, women need to be armed and trained for self defense——and that goes here too, when they go into the inner godless cities which the Democrats turned into hell holes.

Ugh.. marriage... not married... changing sentences sometimes result in this..
Silly bugger! They’re not whores; whores have enough sense to A) get paid; B) not get pregnant.
They’re mostly sluts, slatterns, tarts, tramps, or Liberals.
Of course this was back in the 60’s when being a slut was a bad thing, being a whore was a curse. To be with child without benefit of marriage was consider a sin.
Focusing on men is useless. It only takes one man to impregnate dozens of women. The problem can only be fixed by changing womens attitudes.
