A&E was hit by a 12-gauge Duck Dynasty backlash Thursday as religious and conservative groups denounced the network for suspending the reality shows gay-bashing star whose family suggested it could be the end.
Supporters of show patriarch Phil Robertson who in a magazine interview compared homosexuality to bestiality called for a boycott of the cable network.

A&E, through its politically correct, "tolerant, but only to a degree" minions, has given us Duct Tape Dynasty when it comes to the First Amendment and freedom of speech.
Boycott the Arts & (only if we agree)Entertainment Network!
Chik-Phil-A
I think putting Jase Robertson in place of Jon Stewart and doing a “Redneck Daily Show” would be ratings gold! You could even have Phil do Andy Rooney style commentary.
GQ Mag should have given the Robertson clan a BIG FAT Christmas gift. Any guess on how many more mag they would have sold ‘normally’?
...pending the reality shows gay-bashing star...
That's lie #1.
...show patriarch Phil Robertson who in a magazine interview compared homosexuality to bestiality...
That's lie #2.
I will NOT read a whole article whose 2 paragraph excerpt contains as many lies as paragraphs.
It also compares to shoplifting, telling lies, coveting your neighbor's wife, stealing office supplies from work and premarital sex.
If calling sin what it is is bashing then so be it.
This is all a little confusing — we hear from many (even here on FR) that religion = hate.
So where are the FR “religion = hate” proponents now? Is the self-described ‘libertarian lesbian’ Camille Paglia more sensible than you?
My husband wants to .....I say NO!...I want A & E out of my house!
For goodness sakes....Talk about straining a gnat!
Maybe to prove the point pass on the upcoming new episode when it is first shown. You can always see it in reruns.
Thanks for the good advice!
I hope the Robertson clan continue to succeed in all their endeavors.
Yeah, equating criticism with assault, cute rhetorical trick that.
I haven’t seen the show. Does the “gay bashing” extend beyond the rather innocuous comments he made about non-monogamous sex in general in the latest ‘incident’?
Not much of a dilemma here, I say we can’t even turn A&E on but honey was watching Duck Dynasty last night on A&E, I said turn it off! :) he said no, he’s watching Duck Dynasty.
Not too worried about it, A&E is getting major blowback on this so that’s all that matters. I am so proud of America and the Robertsons. And one more thing, he didn’t compare it to bestiality any more than he did adultery.
I also see people who are gay on the A&E Facebook saying he has a right to say what he believes which is heartening. Some of them aren’t as touchy and pc as A&E themselves.
Definitely not until A&E reinstates and apologizes to Phil, but even then I'm torn. We've seen where A&E's allegiance is, and if they DO apologize and reinstate Phil, it will only be because money is more important to them than their "principles".
It's not just religious and conservative groups, it's pretty well everyone.
“interview compared homosexuality to bestiality”
Here is the perfect example of media today - he never said this.
That seemed to work out well for JC Penneys.
I have never heard the topic of homosexuality discussed on the show.
I was aware some people were unhappy a show concluded with grace said at family dinner. Some liberals were ready to pounce at any opportunity.
I’m still trying to figure out what the guy was referring to as “vile and extreme stereotypes.” I mean, if he wasn’t alluding to the average gay pride parade, I’m stumped.
