The Lockheed Martin Corp. is cutting ties with the Boy Scouts of America because the group does not allow gay Scout leaders, officials told the MDJ on Wednesday.
“While we applaud the mission of the Boy Scouts and the good things they do in our communities, their policies that discriminate on the basis of sexual orientation and religious affiliation conflict with Lockheed Martin policies,” said Lockheed spokesman Gordon Johndroe.
The reference to “religious affiliation” has to do with the Boy Scouts’ ban on atheist members.

Cyclotic also cut ties with Boy Scouts. My son earned Eagle last week. Four days later, our troop held our final meting and I hung up my uniform as a Scoutmaster for the last time. On January 6, we will hold our first meeting as a Trail Life USA troop.
I’m not blaming the Scouts, but when you depend on either corporate or government money for your mission - you will find there are always strings attached.
Lockheed seems to be “sending a message.” I don’t think it will be too long before they start firing Christians.

Well, then, I guess I won’t be flying on anything built by Lockheed. Oh, wait...Lockheed hasn’t built any commercial aircraft to speak of in years. What was the last one? The L-1011?
This and all the other corporate actions against the BSA and similar organizations is a direct result of incorporating “Diversity and Inclusion” programs.

The Scouts thought that allowing gay Scouts would shut them up.....Of course it didn’t.
All it did was embolden them ever more while ticking off their traditional supporters.
That’s what happens when you try to please everyone. It just makes everyone mad.
I thought the Boy Scouts decided they sided with gays now?
