"Duck Dynasty" dad Phil Robertson has been placed on indefinite suspension by the A&E Network following his recent comments on homosexuality, the network announced Wednesday night.
"We are extremely disappointed to have read Phil Robertson's comments in GQ, which are based on his own personal beliefs and are not reflected in the series Duck Dynasty," the network said in a statement.
"His personal views in no way reflect those of A&E Networks, who have always been strong supporters and champions of the LGBT community. The network has placed Phil under hiatus from filming indefinitely."
Earlier Wednesday, Roberston had responded to critics who had slammed him for very graphic statements he made about his preference for heterosexual sex over homosexual sex.
I myself am a product of the 60s; I centered my life around sex, drugs and rock and roll until I hit rock bottom and accepted Jesus as my Savior, he said in a statement sent to FOX411.
My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together.

It’s pathetic that every single entity of any kind immediately falls over itself apologizing whenever an anti-homo comment is made. This for 3% of the pop and maybe 30% enablers.
Good point. Boycotting A & E is NOT going to help the Phil Robertson and his family out any...better think of a different way to make our voices heard until the show moves to a more accommodating network.

That, in a nutshell, was my email to A&E....
There you are. in their own words, they're champions of queers.
did you accuse them of Intolerance?
A&E will go back to being an irrelevant network.
A&E and many of our media today really has this homosexual stuff out of whack. The percentage of population of homosexuals is about 1-2%...yes I know the homos think its like 25% Not according to this article in The Atlantic It’s sad when such a small, sick part of our population can cause such fear and be so powerful.

Doesn’t he have the money to just say screw you and go put his program on his own network? Hello Netflix...?
who owns the show though?
Why are companies so willing to commit financial suicide for the sake of pandering to gays?
JC Penny anyone?
A&E just flushed the highest rated cable program for the gay agenda?
Makes no sense.
Well you know Drudge is gay right?
Blaze TV
Nah. A real one. :p
Is A&E Networks implying they could never stoop so low as to defend TRUTH, morality, and logical sense?
Cuz that’s what it sounds like, to me. (sarc)
Imagine the surprise of all the sheep, after floating down the world’s cesspool(meaning, doing what the “world” does)as they turn around to see where they are headed......
.....I envision, a feverish BACK-stroke.
But when a mere 5% of the population lose their health plans it’s statistically insignificant.
An A&E spokesman had no comment, but Robertson released his own statement responding to the controversy.
I myself am a product of the 60s; I centered my life around sex, drugs and rock and roll until I hit rock bottom and accepted Jesus as my Savior, he said. My mission today is to go forth and tell people about why I follow Christ and also what the Bible teaches, and part of that teaching is that women and men are meant to be together.
However, I would never treat anyone with disrespect just because they are different from me. We are all created by the Almighty and like Him, I love all of humanity. We would all be better off if we loved God and loved each other.
Absolutely. And I hope the entire Robertson family stands firm and stands with Phil on this. What they should do is say to A & E “If Phil’s out we’re out” and then start shopping for a new network. Or start their own.
The Robertson don't need the money and they can write their own ticket if they decide to return to another network.
