In a way, it is, but I've always been the same person I am now.
My parents may have been liberals, but they were old school, and raised me to speak the Queen's English, study hard, make something of myself, honor God and family, and to be a good patriot.
It's only their own cognitive dissonance that keeps them banded to the depraved left. I have no such problem, and left the plantation as soon as I discovered what the left really stood for.
