The conservative group Ending Spending may have premiered the ad that nationalizes the 2014 midterm elections around Obamacare.
The 30-second killer ad was produced by Republican media consultant Larry McCarthy and goes after Jeanne Shaheen, the first-term Democratic Senator from New Hampshire who is likely to face former GOP Senator Scott Brown next year.
The ad begins with footage of Shaheen on the Senate floor echoing President Obama by saying, if you like your insurance you can keep it. An overlay graphic points out that Obama was given the Lie of the Year award from a fact-checking group for that whopper.
The ad then shifts to a local focus: It notes 20,000 people in New Hampshire have lost their insurance to date and that Obamacare exchanges offer only a single provider on the states individual market.
The ad ends with a zinger sign-off: Next November, if you like your senator, you can keep her. If not, you know what to do.
Its a very powerful ad indeed, Grace Marie Turner, the head of the Galen Institute, a health-care advocacy group, told me.
Chris Cillizza, the Washington Posts top political blogger, says Obamacares growing unpopularity makes the ads message dangerous for any Democrat. The latest ABC News poll shows 70 percent of independents oppose Obama on health care. Nearly half of all voters think Obamacare is making the health-care system worse versus only 19 percent who think it will improve matters. Cillizzas conclusion: You have a very scary situation for Shaheen and any other Democrat, which is almost all of them, on the record supporting the ACA. Get used to this ad. You are going to see it thousands of times in various forms before 2014 is over.
“Im confident that the GOP-e will find a way to lose this golden opportunity.”
This election has them scared to death. If it’s a wave election and a bunch of conservatives are swept into office on the wave, the old line GOP will have to change. That’s why Rove et al are waging war on the Tea Party instead of Democrats this year. They regard it as an existential battle; so it will be a bloodfest.
They will declare the ad is mean spirited, doesn’t reflect true Republican values and will apologize for it at the first democratic outburst.
I already saw Rove on Fox this month saying people “don’t want to hear” Republicans bashing Obamacare, they want to hear about whatever plan Republicans will replace it with. Yeah, I’m sure the public has a great appetite to hear more promises from politicians about how they can improve health care.
It's Massachusetts. Nobody could win an election against a bonafide wacko bird communist there.
Understanding is the key to repealing.
Need one for every Donk up for re-election.
Scott Brown is a carpetbagger RINO from MA. He could not beat Warren who lives the dream from the hippie years.

So, who will run against Shaheen then?
Boehner and Nancy Graham will demand an end to divisive political ads.
bump
‘....who is likely to face former GOP Senator Scott Brown next year.’
Thats sort of a leap isnt it? Scott is by NO means a shoe in. In fact theres not a lot of love for him in NH despite what his mirror is telling him.
No worries, like Rush said about this ad today, they’ll not just soften the edges, they’ll decide it wasn’t “reaching across the aisle”, and will never run it........
Yes Sue - sell the home in SC and stay up north to wallow in your liberal utopia! Let a free-born SC family purchase the house.
The National CR showed us some killer ads that year. Actors were playing the part of prominent liberals reciting the lines we knew they all believed, if didn't actually say. They even had one with a Ted Kennedy lookalike driving a car over a bridge.
These were outrageously funny ads, with a very serious message. They might even had been seriously effective.
But we never found out. The national GOP decided it would have been too divisive to air them. So they settled for a mid-term shellacking instead.
Then millions of Indochinese died as a result.
Not so fast guys and gals.
Massachusetts has sent us Scott Brown to take her place. A RINO. Once more media including Howie Carr on Boston radio has endorsed him. I will not vote again if they let the media choose the candidate for me .

I’m not a shill for them, but I’ll promote a good product.
Customized some the other day with a Freeper’s line “U.S.Constitution/ a Preexisting Condition”
with sale pricing at the time, paid about 2.35 each.
That is a killer ad ... OMG ...
I agree. I'm for New Hampshire born and bred, Jeanne Shaheen! Carpetbaggers go home!!
Needs slight fixing: “If you like your politician destroying your health care and health care insurance-——”
