Sounds like you never owned a Volkswagon Beetle. Worse than freezing your buns off in winter, the driver sat upright in the seat and close to the nearly vertical windshield. The windshield would ice over on the inside. Shivering with limited visibility was no way to navigate winter roads.
And the stock is red-hot too, right?

Model S is a high performance sedan with highest NHTSA safety ratings that has yet to suffer 1 death, paralysis, loss of limb, second or third degree burns. That can transport up to 5 adults plus two kids in comfort and silence. Like a Japanese made Lexus LS460 or German made MB S-Class but better.
As of now 55% of Model S content is made in the USA. Like all modern cars components are globally sourced. But Tesla is designing a battery factory to open in about four years.
After the Battery Factory opens US content will jump to about 90%.

In California we have more than a million vehicles that run on natural gas. And they go farther on that gas than an electric tub can because there is no transmission loss like there is with electricity.

Yes, used to ski with a friend here in CA who had one. They are actually pretty good in the snow for a two wheel drive vehicle, but the heater consisted of directing the air that’s drawn over the cylinders by the engine cooling fan into a couple of floor-moiunted ducts that both heat the passenger compartment and defrost the windshield. We took lots of dry rags to wipe off the inside of the windshield and a stout scraper to get the ice off the other side. The sun roof came in handy for the required scraping while under way. going to Tahoe was usually an “adventure.”

Did your bug also get the windshield fluid pressure from the spare tire. You had to hook a tube up to the spare tire. You probably had to remember to fill the spare tire every month or so.

Wrong again. If you are referring to heavy sour crude,yes, we do import. Light sweet crude is backed up in Gulf Coast refineries and is all domestically produced
