Lynn Westmoreland (Vichy-GA) will betray his district this afternoon and vote for the Murray-Ryan budget compromise.
Lynn's office claims that we ignorant voters are basing our opposition on "mistaken feelings" and than we just dont' have all the information that Lynn has considered in his decision. To be sure, we haven't seen the envelope that Wilford Brimley showed threatened Lynn with, but we know that Patty Murray - the Senate's most liberal member - is ecstatic. Career politicians have forgotten the real world, and have betrayed those of us who must survive in it. By betraying their Conservative base, they are killing the Republican Party. Damn them!
Lynn Westmoreland, Vichy Republican.
Trying to feed us a crap sandwich and pretending it is roast beef .
What information do we not have? Ryan himself admits in 10 years we’ll add 8 TRILLION to the debt and “get” (which we won’t) 23 BILLION in “savings”.
That is a whopping .2875% of 8 Trillion.
And it’s still 750 to 800 Billion a year in defecit spending.
Ryan and Boehner are lying useful idiots. They might as well change parties.
I don’t know the individual, but I know GA and Carter, and that’s all I need to know. Chambliss and Isaacson are hardly any better.
He could have voted “No”, and it wouldn’t have mattered. The fix is in, and Republican primary voters cannot understand much either.
Yes, what we all need to do right now is detract attention from Obamacare.
He could have voted No, but he didn’t. Do not dismiss the power of blackmail; it is the currency of corruption in Washington. That alone is a great argument for voting out incumbents.
The GOP is giving up the Sequester's locked-in, real spending cuts in exchange for higher taxes and "fees" and the slim-to-nothing chance of convincing the Democrat Senate and POTUS to agree to other cuts. Great deal, eh? This proves that corrupt Republican politicians love big spending just as much as Democrats do. In this regard, there is no difference between Patty Murray and Paul Ryan - or Lynn Westmoreland. They are cowards, but they do dearly love spending our money.
I remember Lynn when he was in the Statehouse in Ga. Speaker Tom Murphy cancelled his library in Tyrone Ga.
Man he’s gone a long way since that time!
Shame. He’s usually solid. Boehner really has everyone scared of another shutdown.
Incumbency is the single greatest corrupting influence in our entire political system. There is only one party in Washington: the Re-Election Party, dedicated to the personal enrichment of its members at taxpayers’ expense.
ONLY TERM LIMITS CAN EVEN BEGIN TO ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. Washington will never impose term limits on itself—it must come from the State Legislatures through an Article V. process. See Mark Levin’s “Liberty Amendments” and-—

rep Gingrey’s office reported he will vote “no”.
Gingrey (Marietta and points west towards the AL border) is also (oh by the way) running for Senate.
Braun (also running for Senate seat this coming Nov) has already run ads saying this is a bad deal.
Erik Erikson of WSB says the bill ads money back to the State Dept to allow UN gun treaty to be supported.
“Erik Erikson of WSB says the bill ads money back to the State Dept to allow UN gun treaty to be supported.”
Oooohhh, blue helmets. Fun!
One is a Republican or he isn’t. One is a Conservative or he isn’t.
Please, fence-sitting FReepers, get it settled in your minds which you are and stop the wishful pretending that one person can be both. Please.
Yeah, I remember when Lynn was still building houses in Tyrone and Fayetteville. He's a good guy, but he's been in Washington for so long now that the wrong people have his ear and his wallet. All it takes is one slip up and they can own a politician for life. It might be time for Lynn to find another line of work, and send somebody new who has the fire and courage that Lynn once had. It hurts to say that.
11 months until election day; much less time until the primary. Will he be the only one on the ballot when I run down to my local Coweta fire station to vote?
Paul Broun might be the only member of the Georgia delegation that doesn't care what the GOPe thinks about him. He is a Conservative first and beholden to none but his constituents. All the other 2014 Senate candidates are merely talking Broun's walk.
At this point there's nobody else in the ring, but it's time for local GOPs and Tea Parties to demand an accounting from Lynn. After today's betrayal, I'm going to talk to some people in Fayette and down in LaGrange. Lynn takes us for granted, and obviously fears Boehner more than us. But lost trust is a very serious thing.
Well Rob Woodall betrayed the 7th Dist and voted for it also. I am really disappointed in him. He goes along with Boehner way too much.
If these guys want to vote like Democrats, we might as have the real deal.
