The liberal media starts to take the measure of a media figure they must be afraid of. Make that very, very afraid. Dan Zak of the Washington Post has a long and interesting article on Megyn Kelly, whose new show on Fox News Channel has become a major hit:
It debuted just over two months ago, and so far its ratings among 25-to-54-year-olds have exceeded those of "The O'Reilly Factor" six times. In November, her first full month in prime time after years in daytime, Kelly was second only to O'Reilly in the overall ratings, which means she's the No. 2 person on cable news's No. 1 channel.
I have spent more time than I expected watching her show, which was given the best slot FNC has to offer, following O'Reilly's top-rated show. She offers compelling accept-no-BS interviews and hard-edged analysis in the style of the high powered lawyer she used to be before dumping that career in favor of something more rewarding: TV journalism. And, to be completely honest, it doesn't hurt one bit that she is stunningly beautiful.
Considering the politics of the WaPo, Zak's piece is very fair indeed. It is obvious that he is impressed with Kelly and sees that superstardom lies ahead for her. Bill O'Reilly is nowhere near retiring, but it is quite obvious that Roger Ailes, the guiding hand that built FNC from nothing into the most important news provider in America, has found the answer to the question, "What comes after O'Reilly?"
Zak provides behind-the-scenes views of the TV show, and also a glimpse of Kelly's family life and a review of her background. For Kelly fans (who are legion and whose number is growing by the day) this is must reading.

What does “The View” have to do with Megan Kelley?
RE: What happened to John Gibson, I thought he did a good job.
From Wikipedia:
Gibson joined the Fox News Channel in September 2000 as the host of its news program The Big Story. He also wrote the New York Times bestselling books Hating America: The New World Sport and The War on Christmas.
On March 12, 2008, Fox News Channel announced The Big Story was being replaced with America’s Election Headquarters, a program more directly geared toward following the 2008 U.S. presidential election.
The Big Story was not renewed after the election and was replaced with The Glenn Beck Program in January 2009. He has been a regular guest-panelist on Fox’s late-night satire show Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld, and is often the butt of jokes on episodes in which he doesn’t appear.
Did you read the last paragraph of the article? Is he comparing her to Reagan?
True that.
I hope she cleans his clock in the ratings.
I love her to death, she’s cute as a button and sharp as a pin.
He is not, by a long shot, the only one in that category. That and three or more people all talking over each other at once makes most talk shows unwatchable for me.
Spot on. When O'Reiley intererviewed Palin, he spoke 80% of the time...who cares what he thinks, I tuned in for and didn't get to hear Palin. (Loved it whe he mentioned her "charm"... Palin rolled her eyes and said, "yeah charm." Really put him down in about 2 seconds.)
And I remember when Fox announced it’s new line up, how many here were bad mounting Kelly. Hahaha! I knew she would be great. I got to watch her day time show every now and then. She is a great “take no BS” interviewer. Much like Gretta, and unlike O’R, she will allow her subject to talk long enough to make their point..
Unlike O’Reilly, she actually understands the positions she takes on the show and is able to back them up. O’Reilly gets handed a script by his staff and isn’t able to defend against the guests’ taking points so he resorts to just shouting them down or cutting them off.
Sound of Music
Big Bang Theory
The Kelly File
Sort of reinforces my theory that the American TV audience will tune-in to watch cute blondes.
“Megyn has greater intellect than OReilly and more balls. IO used to think OReilly just said stupid things and talked over people whom he disagreed to be balanced. It turns out he just isnt that tuned in.”
BORe reminds of the arrogant Ivy Leaguers, I have the misfortune of knowing, working with or under.
Only they and BORe know everything, and the rest of us should be talked over or ignored.
I have no idea if BORe is an Ivy Leagdiot. He acts like one.
I watch Bill O'Reilly every night because his show is well produced and interesting. However, his arrogance and bully persona are tiresome, even though I agree with him more often than not. O'Reilly's lack of knowledge on some pertinent issues is surprising and undercuts his pretensions of being omniscient. At 64, he is probably near retirement (possibly involuntary) and Megyn Kelly is being groomed to replace him. That can't happen soon enough for me.
