Yep. No argument with CPS horror stories.

But OTOH, we can safely match up horror stories from our military with the thousands of documented rape allegations and charges of abuse from enlisted personnel. And what with fag-friendly and anti-Christian policies in force from the White House and the Pentagon....

It is expected that sex offensses (including raping your own children) are going to be more common and ordinary within the Armed Forces.

It would be nice to know whether the military's numbers are substantially lower, or higher, per-capita than in the civilian world, just to verify whether the armed forces are maintaining a higher standard.

We'd all like to think that a U.S. military officer would NEVER abuse or neglect a child, but we also all know that is does happen.

I understand what you are saying,....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And I read your reply and I too agree with you. (Mutual Agreement Society, yes?)
It is really very easy to cherry pick your own facts. Is that what the author is doing here? Maybe. And sometimes the sheer number of facts really does prove the argument.
But in this case regarding this Navy lieutenant.... We just don’t know.
(But my gut tells me he is a scum-wad who deserves to die)
We were in CPS’ grasp in California more than 15 years ago when our teenaged son was acting out. It was horrendous, and I still can’t believe we got away intact as a family. Our crazy social worker would make ridiculous accusations and if we refuted them....well, we were in “denial.” For example, she claimed I was a religious fanatic because I had crucifixes and several pictures of Jesus, Mary, and John Paul II on display. I was just trying to be a good Catholic, but to her, I was cray-cray.
An enlisted man would be doing hard time.
Maybe that's why he's *prior* enlisted. The Pilot article didn't say that (or I missed it), but at 24 years, that means he had been in 20 years and was an 0-3 at the time of the incident (2009).
And my father, a career Navy NCO, used to tell me: “Always trust your gut!”
WTF? I hope he falls overboard in an accident.
My dad was in WW2, through out the pacific. He told me flat out, that there were incidents when cowards and criminals in the Army had accidents. Cowardice was the big one. I’d say molesting and raping your children would have to rank right up there.
Really? You find bogus wife claims surprising? It happens all the time in or out of the USA. Watch "Alaska State Troopers" sometime and you will see how many domestic disturbances are caused by the wife.
Even back in the late 70's to early 80's, Rota and surrounding areas was beautiful place. Especially loved the "Costa del Sol" area down the road. I've seen on one of the cable channels (House Hunters International) how much Rota has grown and cleaned up. Still, there are bars on the windows because of burglary being the no. 1 crime.
I meant to add...
And if there were a diversity quota involved, it would take multiple acts of overt criminal depravity for the military to finally see the obvious.
Oh, there's plenty of scumbags in the military, no doubt about that. Officer and enlisted alike. Some they get weeded out early. Others go on to have long careers.
There's also a lot of good guys in the military who make very poor decisions regarding who they marry, often with disastrous consequences. I can regale you with horror stories on this subject as well -as I'm sure you can too.
My Father from the Europeon theater also told me of men breaking down and even some shooting themselves. The carnage in that and Korea and Viet Nam was just way too much for some people to deal with. I wouldn't be surprised if there are many who have broke down from Iraq and Aftganiscrap. Ever here of PTDS? Many have come back with it from our various wars. It's documented that even Civil War soldiers were deserting and causing self-inflicted wounds.
War really is HELL and not everyone has the juice to deal with the front lines. However, I wouldn't compare that to raping children.
Not bogus wife claims, just such hatred for Rota in your anecdote.
Sending your squads into harms way while hiding like a coward.... those officers had “accidents”.
PTDS runs rampant in our VFW, but is frowned upon in our American Legion.
Most PTDS I’ve met use it for a reason not to work. Not saying it isn’t so. Not saying it isn’t real. I’m saying it was a Dan Rather thing in the 70’s, and too many of a certain ilk use it to get on disability I’m not saying it doesn’t happen, I’m saying it is abused by perfectly healthy men, while men with missing limbs go on and become business owners, and highly respected members of society.
I know many vets in my American Legion missing arms and legs, who walk around all day with shrapnel in their bodies, who would never, ever, never claim PTDS.
Also, our local VFW is filled with lawsuits from Agent Orange. The VFW by us is pitiful, and there are lawyers who stop in frequently, looking for clients.
I was taught to have no use for cowardice. Every one is equally afraid. That’s a fact Jack. The difference is some people push on, others don’t. Hero’s aren’t hero’s because they are not afraid. They are hero’s because they ARE afraid, but still manage to act and do what is needed to protect their men, and get the job done.
And cowardice in time of war, is unacceptable. Your team depends on you to be part of the team.
I’m no war hero, I was in transportation, but I was taught from my dad those principles, and I learned as the years went on, what Hero’s are made of, and what cowards are made of.
Biz-zarre, huh?
I was reading the comments at the Virginian Pilot link. A 20+ year career officer. Nearly 6 figures.
Well, if someone posted this claim on Facebook and it then got picked up by a blog, it must be true!
Except it's total BS.
the Navy lieutenant — who was not named by the newspaper in order to protect the privacy of his traumatized kids — raped his 13-year-old daughter, pinning her to a bed and forcing himself on her after two years of touching her in inappropriate ways.
Now that was a long trick. Seriously, it seems that the need for good character has like, gone out the window. One doesn't need to be Einstein to figure out what this is courting. And maybe it's good, for folks who have put so much stock in our farting forces. Time for them to look to God again.
Someone else couldn’t resist the temptation, huh. REAR admiral!
Well OK. Don’t stone me for heresy or blasphemy for saying this: I think God (in a way) laughs at the dirty jokes too. Because God thinks what clownish fools those people are who are doing these things. But if that were all there were to God, we’d all get laughed to hell right now. The Cross tells there is a greater side to God. He’d rather suffer to save us than to be satisfied laughing us off.
