President Barack Obama delivered a eulogy to South Africa's late President Nelson Mandela at First National Bank Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg on Tuesday, before a large crowd that had gathered in the rain for a memorial together with dozens of heads of state from around the world. The president's address was devoted to Mandela's life and example. However, as in most Obama addresses, he could not resist talking about himself.
"For the people of South Africa, for those he inspired around the globe--Madibas passing is rightly a time of mourning, and a time to celebrate his heroic life," President Obama said in remarks prepared for delivery. But I believe it should also prompt in each of us a time for self-reflection. With honesty, regardless of our station or circumstance, we must ask: how well have I applied his lessons in my own life? It is a question I ask myself--as a man and as a President."
"Over thirty years ago, while still a student," he said later in his address, "I learned of Mandela and the struggles in this land. It stirred something in me. It woke me up to my responsibilities--to others, and to myself--and set me on an improbable journey that finds me here today. And while I will always fall short of Madibas example, he makes me want to be better."

So true, it is a totally bizarre rogues gallery.
If I could photoshop, I’d put a ‘Sponsored by Firestone’ banner at the funeral.
So you are portraying Cruz as Christ?
That A-hole is a self-feeding machine.
“However, as in most Obama addresses, he could not resist talking about himself.”
Well we knew he would. :-)
The truth of who this man really was, and what he did and stood for is another casualty in Obama's purge of reality to further his own selfish ambition.
This seems to be a standard theme to every obama speech.
what he didn't mention was that Mandela died trying to sign up for Obamacare.

Good point, then it was Obama/
Your comment made the topic of the discussion that of Ted Cruz. What is it about you progs in that you refuse to stay on the topic you started? I suppose that comes with the forward in the Rules for Radicals.
It was you who brought up Jesus on this Cruz thread not me, and I told you it was Blasphemy and disgusting to be putting human politicians in his sandals.
Oh , yes, very improbable. What, with parents and grand parents with murky CIA connections, attendance in all the right schools and all sorts of other weird relationships to the very well connected. So improbable...
