FULL TITLE: 'Oh you're gonna shoot me?' The sarcastic last words of straight-A student shot dead by college cop after being stopped for speeding
A witness says he heard the sarcastic final words of a Texas student moments before he was shot dead by a college police officer.
Robert Cameron Redus, 23, was killed when Corporal Chris Carter, 35, opened fire on him in the early hours of Friday morning a few blocks away from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio where Redus studied, set to graduate in May.
Neighbour Mohammad Haidaras told My San Antonio that he heard a tense exchange between Redus and Carter sixty seconds before shots rang out.
He told the website: 'I heard (a man) say, 'Oh, you're gonna shoot me?' like sarcastic almost.'
The 22-year-old claims he heard gunshots less than a minute later and jumped into his closet.
Investigators say an altercation began when Carter tried to pull Redus over for speeding and driving erratically.

The cop warned him he was going to shoot after the kid used his baton on him. That’s when the kid said sarcastically, You’re gonna shoot me”?
The cop plainly said, “Stop resisting, I’m going to shoot” before the sarcastic comment.
My mom used to say, “Let them have their way, we’ll sue them in court”.
The camera was not damaged. The weather did not allow the glue to set and the camera fell off the car.
“Carter is on administrative leave during the investigation...”
Why the hell is this asshole ‘campus’ cop who ‘murdered’ this student off campus, not in jail with no bail awaiting trial for murder in the first degree, with death penalty as the only alternative?
And the University who hired him must be at some point ready to settle for millions in a wrongful death suit.
As for lame stream reporting, they are worse than lame...they are evil.
Frankly, the photos and video of the kid made him look like a jack-azz.
Not that college kids are ever that way.
Seems like this :cop” was something like a mall cop. Bet he ran into jerk kid. Just my opinion from what I’ve read so far. Maybe the blood test will help.
The article doesn’t mention if the student looked like a dog.
Oh great, another moslem homo.
bttt
Hey thanks for doing the research and posting. Appreciate it.
Boo-hoo, huh?
Hey, mouth off to a cop, you deserve to be shot dead like a rabid dog, right?
You’re an ass...
Ed
This could be a case of idiots in collision-——
But anyway, if the story info is correct then Carter had eight LEO jobs in five and a half years prior to his current position.
Sure would like to know the backstory on that.
UIW: Student attacked officer with baton before shooting”
Until the dust settles on this I will reserve judgment in this case. Other than that the baton angle is familiar.
I sat on a Grand Jury in the late 80’s for an officer involved shooting. It basically was a local PD officer who along with his partner happened on a local street person (woman) who was being smacked around by two laborer types. It later turned out she was drunk, spitting at the two guys and throwing fireworks at them, basically being super obnoxious when they got fed up and slapped her around. The cops showed up about that time.
The cops stopped the assault and started to hook the two guys up until they could sort the situation out. One guy got hooked up the other bolted and ran up hill into a darkened park with the cop in foot pursuit. A shot was fired in the park. Multiple units responded and the second fellow was taken onto custody. It was discovered as he was being placed into the car his pants were bloody. It was obvious he was shot but the cop never admitted he pulled the trigger until post event investigation showed his revolver had been fired. His reason for shooting was nothing short of amazing.
This is where the GJ got involved. The cop claims he entered the dark park baton in hand when he tripped sending the baton flying ahead of him toward the suspect. The suspect instantly picked it up did a 180 and rushed the cop who drew his gun and fired. To listen to the cop it would have been the work of a world class athlete.
The problem was there was no chain of custody on the baton due to the cops’ initially not admitting he actually used the baton nor shooting. Part of his problem was the bullet wound insomuch the bullet had struck the suspects belt buckle at an extreme angle and fragmented penetrating his lower abdomen and exiting his perineum. The cop would have to have been standing on a ladder and shooting down if he was to be believed.
The suspect was suing the city for excessive force and the PD was charging the shootee for attack on a PD officer. It was abundantly clear the cop was lying by omission and statement. The GJ refused to indict either party. It was a real mess and if the cop had just told the truth it would have gone alot better.
The policeman says that the kid took his baton and hit him with it. However, the policeman says that he took back the baton before he shot the kid. And there is no video of the incident. So, you are only repeating what the policeman said, and we all know that he has absolutely no reason to lie about it.
So, being drunk and belligerent is a capital offense in your book.
Interesting.

Agree
I always told my son growing up that when a cop stops you there is only one thing you need to know.......”SHUT-UP”!!!!
In Alabama public college police are state officers. Private college theyre security guards.
