When Daddy was around 88 he got a notice that his drivers license was about to expire and that his insurance could not be continued if it expired.
He couldn’t drive, well he could have but none of us would have ridden with him. We did drive him in his own car to Dr.s visits etc.
My Sister and I took him to the Florida drivers license office. He could barely stand and my Sister had to stand behind him and hold him up by his belt while he took the eye test. He actually passed the eye test with no problem and they renewed his license.
Hard to believe but they did.
my biology professor said a monkey could get a dl so I would trust many old people. they don’t drive fast.
Gimme my license!
My favorite quote along those lines:
I want to go peacefully in my sleep like my grandpa, not yelling and screaming like the people in his car at the time...
“Hard to believe but they did.”
My now departed 92 year old mother renewed her driver’s license here in California six months before she passed away for FIVE MORE YEARS! Written exam and an eye test were all that was required.
