Councilwoman Laurie Cumbo
Brooklyn Councilwoman Laurie Cumbo blamed the recent knockout game attacks in her district on the growth and succsess of the Jewish Community. In a Facebook post she says, Many of her black constituents told her they feel threatened by the growth of the neighborhoods Jewish community.
DNA Info reported:
The alleged knockout attacks on Jewish residents of Crown Heights may stem from ongoing racial tension between the neighborhoods black and Jewish communities, a newly-elected Brooklyn politician said.
Councilwoman-elect Laurie Cumbo, who was elected to represent Crown Heights starting in January, released an open letter Tuesday saying that many of her black constituents told her they feel threatened by the growth of the neighborhoods Jewish community and she fears the tension could be spiking the recent violence.
Many African American/Caribbean residents expressed a genuine concern that as the Jewish community continues to grow, they would be pushed out by their Jewish landlords or by Jewish families looking to purchase homes, Cumbo wrote in the 1,200-word letter, which was emailed to supporters and posted on her Facebook page.
I respect and appreciate the Jewish communitys family values and unity that has led to strong political, economic and cultural gains. While I personally regard this level of tenacity, I also recognize that for others, the accomplishments of the Jewish community triggers feelings of resentment, and a sense that Jewish success is not also their success.
She added that these sentiments among black Crown Heights residents offer possible insight as to how young African American/Caribbean teens could conceivably commit a hate crime against a community that they know very little about.
Thats it. Its the Jews fault.
Martin Luther didn’t pull his anti-Semitism out of thin air. The Catholics of his time (remember, he was a German monk, Catholic priest and professor of theology before he split with the church) were plenty anti-Semitic.
I wondered if I had mis-remembered this (never having been to New York), earlier, so I looked it up on google/ Wikipedia.

What does she mean “the growth of the Jewish community”?
“During the ‘40s, ‘50s and ‘60s, many middle class Jews lived in Crown Heights. In 1950, the neighborhood was 89 percent white, with a small but growing black population. Some 50- 60 percent of the white population, about 75,000 people, were Jewish. By 1957, there were about 25,000 blacks in Crown Heights, about one fourth of the population.”
This isn’t the first time there’s been a racial/ ethnic conflict either. (Which maybe why I remembered that Crown Heights was primarily, a Jewish neighborhood) There were problems in the 60s & 70s and a riot in 1991.
I really get sick of the left trying to re-write history.
I dont disagree and that’s really not the point.
I’m just wondering about the source of blacks anitiJewush theology.
