Imagine, if you will, two perfectly matched ‘crystals’ set apart by thousands of miles, say one in the US and the other in Timbuktu. Whatever happens to one, the other will react the same. If you can get a data sequence to apply to one then the other will ‘receive’ that same data......................
Regarding "at or slower than speed of light communication", like for reliable low-energy deep space or high-speed submarine communication, unfortunately the current understanding is that NO communication can be performed by shared quantum states. Supposedly the situation is like having two radio receivers - neither transmits.
I'm not a theoretical physicist, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night. (Well, actually I didn't do that, either.)
Doesn’t work for communication. Information can’t be transmitted faster than the speed of light, even if you try to do it with entangled particles.
