The Establishment fights back: Mitch McConnell leads GOP's battle against Tea Party insurgents
The Washington Examiner ^ | November 29, 2013 | DAVID M. DRUCKER

Posted on 12/02/2013 4:50:57 AM PST by don-o

McConnell worries that the Senate Conservatives Fund and other insurgent groups are pursuing a confrontational, uncompromising strategy that makes it impossible for conservatives to govern.

“The Senate Conservatives Fund is giving conservatism a bad name. They’re participating in ruining the [Republican] brand,” McConnell said. “What they do is mislead their donors into believing the reason that we can’t get as good an outcome as we’d like to get is not because of a Democratic Senate and a Democratic president, but because Republicans are insufficiently committed to the cause — which is utter nonsense.”

The outside groups, in McConnell's view, are unaccountable and financially motivated and pose a threat to the Republican Party's viability. The groups in 2010 and 2012 backed a handful of untested, ideological candidates in Republican primaries that couldn't win general elections, costing the party opportunities to build a majority. It's a threat that must be addressed ahead of the 2014 and 2016 elections, McConnell said, because it's repelling the very voters the GOP needs if it's ever to take control of the federal government.

If anyone needs more proof that we have just one BIG GOVERNMENT political party with two divisions of professional parasites called democrats and republicans this is it.

Establishment republicans hate conservatives more than they hate democrats because conservatives want to change the corrupt, unconstitutional system that keeps establishment republicans (and democrats) fat, wealthy and living like royalty off the blood of taxpayers.

Democrats don’t want to change the system - they just want to keep republicans second in line sucking up the slops at the pig trough.

For the 8 years that I’ve been a FReeper, I’ve been arguing that the gop is as much a threat to conservatism as the ‘rats are. Years ago, it was a notso popular of a position to take. Heck, In ol’ mitchy I see some measure of vindication. With ol’ mitchy I no longer have to even argue the point that we have a one party system. I can just point at “exhibit A”, the senator from KY, and rest my case.

Right on Democrat, you know when Glenn Beck called out Mitch a couple of months ago, I actually thought he might be laying it on a little to hard.

Don't Thank That No More!!!

The GOP wing of the Uniparty want this Government to get bigger so one day they can control it!

Mitch's is starting to appear more desperate than confident. That's a positive sign for conservatives.

Instead of embracing the Tea party the Republicans think it is wise to attack them.

When McConnell goes down maybe they will get the message, but I doubt it.

He better not be calling conservatives “insurgents”. It is galling. Many conservatives have fought real battles against real insurgents and live to remember it. It’s like calling WWII veterans “NAZIs”.

He represents wealthy, connected special interests. Conservatives represent people.

It used to be that this type would keep their yappers shut and pretend to be conservative to get into office to serve their real constituents -wealthy special interests groups who used government to convey economic advantage.

But now with conservatives addressing the debt and economic burdens his real constituents have imparted upon the people the veil is off and he’s showing his true allegance. He is a traitor who has betrayed the people. These people belong in prison.

An admission from his own mouth that MCConnell needs to be unseated. Commie Rat Obama, the Commie Rat Party and Commie Rat bureaucrats are the enemy, not the Tea Party.

The Republican leader intends to reassert the power of the GOP's pragmatic wing — the so-called Establishment — in the party's nominating process and legislative agenda ahead of the 2014 congressional elections and the 2016 presidential race.

The Empire strikes back...

McConnell better back off or his “alliance” with Rand Paul will be toast. He is putting Paul in a very difficult position. The last thing he needs for an enemy is the Tea Party favorite, Kentucky Senator Rand Paul.

“The Senate Conservatives Fund is giving conservatism a bad name. They’re participating in ruining the [Republican] brand,” McConnell said.

If anyone is ruining the brand it's McConnell and Graham and McCain and their ilk.

Perhaps it can be understood what Newt meant when he accurately said “the era of Ronald Reagan is over...” Newt was merely stating what the state of mind is within the GOP.

I'd like to send the most viable conservative likely to beat him some $$.

Every true conservative in the country should do so. McConnell is worst than a disgrace, he is an enabler of the Enemy.
