Unions Again Seeking Special Favors Under ObamaCare
Investors Business Daily ^ | November 27, 2013 | Sen. John Thune

Three years ago, union leaders were ardent supporters of ObamaCare and helped push the bill through Congress.

Nancy Pelosi's prophecy at that time — that we had to pass the bill to find out what's in it — has turned out to be true. Now unions are finding out that the bill they supported may be putting their cherished health care plans in jeopardy, and they are making their concerns known.

On Monday afternoon, the administration issued a proposed rule to exempt many union health care plans, known as Taft-Hartley plans, from ObamaCare's reinsurance tax.

Obama owes the unions big-time. Without the unions, Obama would not have won either election. They get what they want!!

I don’t understand why no one in the Republican party seems to be willing to oppose Obama’s unending lawlessness.

Certainly it’s worth fighting over this issue, it’s not like the Republicans are going to lose any valued union voters.

It is a terrible thing to learn that the “special relation” with the ideological Current Regime now squatting in the White Hut (or “Spite Hut”) has resulted in being tossed aside like a used condom.

In one way or another, there is not one group among the legion of supporters that came together to put The Great Pretender into a position of power far beyond his scope of abilities, that has not suffered some degree of disillusionment, and downright personal harm in some instances.

Playing President is a lot harder deal than it looks to be. No skills, no reasoned and logical determination of what has to be done, and no appreciation of what the job itself means. Some men get thrust into the job, and in the instinctive manner of someone operating on sheer nerve, manage to somehow gain balance and acquit themselves well.

The Current Occupant has been thrown off balance, and to the dismay of many, cannot seem to regain the magic that put him up there in the first place. Some thought he could really do what he said he was going to, and when the balancing act came apart, he discovered he was juggling not tennis balls, but powered-up and running chain saws, which just now are coming blade down and about to do endless mischief.

The Universe can be a cruel and unforgiving place.

Especially for the incompetent.

By 'no one' are you excluding John Thune, the senator from South Dakota that wrote the article you are commenting on?

For some people it is very difficult to tell the truth. Remember when the representative shouted “Liar” when Mr. Obama took the podium? He was chastised by everyone. You have to respect the office, if not the man. Well, I say the man in office should respect the office! He shoved this Obamacare through Congress lying to the public touring the universities and workplaces as if he was on the campaign trail putting pressure on their reps to vote for it. Pie in the sky. Just like Hillary and the deaths of four Americans in Benghazi, she refused to supply support that cost them their lives. “What difference does it make now” — her famous words! Why don’t you ask the wives, mothers, fathers and children of those for “what difference it made.” And many want her to take Mr. Obama’s place ? Are they that crazy? Let’s drain that swamp and get some honest and real Americans in office before it’s to late to reverse the damage done by this President and his administration.

I cannot even comprehend by what legal precedent the president and Democrats think this can stand.

These are 100% exactly the kind of abuses of power the Revolution was fought to end.

These people are so emboldened to think they can get away with it. Republicans should be telling the Democrats that not only is this illegal, and unconstitutional but they are aiding and abetting crimes of the highest order.

Time for polite speech making is far past.

Less than $2.8k to go!!

Let's finish this today before
Thanksgiving Day!
Thank you!!

We also have a very generous anonymous FReeper donor
issuing a challenge to match the next five $100 dollar donations!!
That would be $1,000 to FR to Git’er’Done!!

We still need 1 FReeper to match his challenge!!!

The real outrage here is the media allowing the exemption to happen without reporting it! Another huge part of this story continues to go unreported. Unions enjoy EXTREMELY generous health care plans! I’d venture to say, as a group, they have the best plans in the country! We are never told details of the union plans and how much workers have to pay out of their pockets. Why? When it came to investigating CEO’s “Cadillac” plans, the media went on a feeding frenzy!

I know all of the plans aren’t exactly alike. But, many are very generous and offer a lot of “details” that people in the private sector could never dream of. Here are some things I’d like to know about union health plans:

1. On average, how much of the premium is paid by the worker. How much by the employer?

2. Do most plans cover health, vision, hearing, etc.?

3. When a union worker chooses “early retirement”, does his hc insurance continue to cover him until he reaches 65, Medicare age? Do some union plans continue for life?

4. What kind of co-pays, deductibles, drug payments, do the plans have.

It seems that the main goal of unions is to get extremely good coverage for their workers while requiring the workers to spend very little if anything out of their own pocket (from the premium to the co-pay, etc.) I’ve done some research on union health benefits, but it is difficult. There just isn’t much information out there. If we are going to exempt them from the tax, I say we deserve to know the details of their plans. If unions are so outraged at the “Cadillac” health care plans awarded to CEO’s, they should be willing to expose their plans to scrutiny!
