I do the exact same thing!
Except this year, the Christmas season has been foisted upon us so early, that I’ve found NOBODY is ready for it. That is sad!
I usually don’t put up Christmas decorations till after Thanksgiving but Mrs S made me break that rule this year :o(
Not to be too religioius....but if one remembers the reason for the season, one is ALWAYS ready for it :-)

Up here, it’s supposed to start-out as snow/sleet and change-over to 3-5” of rain thru Wednesday night. I’m staying off the roads; got all my errands etc done today. Snow, I don’t mind in an AWD Jeep; ice, well that’s a whole ‘nother matter.
In York, Home Depot had its Christmas stuff up in late October! Lowe’s, too. It’s out of control.
I have a feeling something REALLY ugly is going to happen REALLY soon.
